Dear Wes,
Attached please find the following items you requested
for the upcoming Plan Commission committee review of
Pilgrim Lutheran Church:
SPECIAL USE
- The affidavit from Schneider Management attesting that
they received notice of the public hearing for the
( Special Use.
fwo copies of the revised Special Use application with
questions #10 & #18 properly filled in .
Ten copies of the area map indicating zone districts
on-site and adjacent to the site.
Although we will ultimately comply with your request for
an amendment to our Special Use application to ask
special permission for an artificial pond, I don ' t think
the amendment is necessary. The retention pond is an
inherent drainage design feature of the site. It is
clearly subordinate to the primary use of the property
54\i and should properly be deemed an accessory use of the
54424, . property, which is allowed by right . I would urge you to
��''++ consult with your legal counsel regarding this matter.
The interpretation that any artificial lake or pond
outside a plat requires separate Special Use considera-
tion will unnecessarily clutter your review processes,
since 95% of such ponds serve a required drainage
function. Where a pond is being proposed as a principal
use, or for reasons unrelated to drainage, you may
require special use approval .

ADLS
Regarding the ADLS request, we have modified our ground
sign proposal on U.S. Hwy. 31 to change the design from a
V-shaped sign to a typical double-faced sign . The
elevation view of the sign will not change (see attached
elevation drawing ) and the sign will be displayed
perpendicular to the highway. We will also make it clear
to the committee that if there is any doubt in your mind
regarding our ability to erect the wall sign on the
north facade of the church, we will seek a variance. I
believe Kevin Callahan is revising the site plan to
incorporate the changes you requested regarding lighting .
I will see you this evening at the I & C committee

this matter.

Re: Docket No. SU-45-89 - Pilgrim Lutheran Church
Dear Rick ,
I am writing to request a thirty-day continuance in the Special
Use request for Pilgrim Lutheran Church at 10202 North Meridian
Street. There are still a number of small design issues that are
unresolved following last week ' s Technical Advisory Committee
meeting . We will get back to you as soon as we have everything
settled , which should be within the next ten days, if we can get
the necessary information from IDOH. Please table our public
hearing until the July 24 meeting . Thank you for your patience
and assistance in this matter.
