HomeMy WebLinkAboutPacket Statement of Variance : We are seeking a variance of development standards for 9680 Shelborne Road for the building line setback established when the property was subdivided. The building line setback in the platted subdivision is 80'. The current house is setback 81' and we would like to cover the front porch so that guests to the house can stand out of the rain while they wait at the door. We would like to move the setback 4'forward to 76'feet for the construction of this covered porch. This will not be a totally enclosed structure, as you can clearly see in the attached drawings. Statement of Support : This Variance of Development Standards will not adversely affect the neighborhood because it will only be extending the porch 5', not the entire house.Additionally, this addition will make this home more appealing from the street. The City of Carmel building setback is 20', so we are still well within the City's rules
