HomeMy WebLinkAboutPacket 06-23-14Dear TAC members Here is a little more information about the future use of the property. Our preschool is a Spanish Immersion program. We take children between 2 and 5 years old. The ratio for 2 and 3 years old is 4 children per adult. The ratio for 4 and 5 years old is 6:1 according to our own rules. So far we are two permanent teachers and we would like to add one more this coming school year. Due to this regulation, the number of kids that we have on each session is no more that 12 at a time. The hours of operations are from 8:30 am to 11:30 am for the morning session and from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm for the afternoon session. We provide drop off and pick up service for parents. They do not park and bring their children inside. So far, it takes us between 5 and 6 minutes to load and unload children. Parents are provided with a guideline about drop off and pick up procedures where they have their kids ready for unloading at arrival time and for securing them at pick up time. For the staff we have a driveway that fitscars so parking has not been an issue. Most of our parents have 2 or 3 kids in our program so the numbers of cars moving around is greatly reduced at arrival and dismissal time. Below is an extract of our drop off /pick up procedures: Dear Parents, Drop off and pick up procedures. Mi Escuelita, Inc Arrival - Pull up directly in front of the school, park, and wait for your child's teacher to open the door of the vehicle and help your child out. Please keep your child's belongings handy. Dismissal — Pull up directly in front of the school, park and wait for your child's teacher to open the door of the vehicle and help your child into her /his car seat. * Your teacher will close the door and have you drive up a little bit; where you will stop just long enough to make sure your child is strapped properly For safety reasons, it will be better to have your child's booster seat close to the sidewalk instead of walking with him /her in the street. We prefer for parents to stay in the car to avoid people walking in the street. If you can unbuckled your child it will help us move faster. We will meet your children at drop off area (in front of our school) starting at 8:25 each morning. If you arrive after 8:35, please park and walk your child to the front door. If you will be arriving after 8:40, please give us a call at (317- 575 -9379) If for any reason you need to pick up your child before dismissal time, you must let us know to have your child ready. The first weeks of school you are more than welcome to bring your child inside, until you think he /she is comfortable getting out of the car with us. We hope this helps to understand a little bit more about our preschool.
