needed; primarily for security.
As a part of the commitment amendment to allow parking lot lighting, the petitioner is proposing lighting that will have as
little impact on surrounding properties as possible. 12 light poles are proposed and the height of the light poles will be
limited to 15 feet. In addition, the lighting levels at the property line will be 0 footcandles;the Ordinance permits 0.1
footcandles at residential lot lines and 0.3 footcandles at non-residential lot lines. The petitioner is proposing LED lights
of the"down lighting"type so that the light element will be flush with the fixture and shielded from direct view. There
should be limited light trespass from uplighting and backlighting. Buffering for the neighbors will be provided in the
required bufferyards on the north and south property lines of 15 feet and 10 feet, respectively.
The Department is in support of this Commitment Amendment.
Recommendation: After all comments and concerns have been addressed The Dept. of Community Services
recommends positive consideration of Docket No. 14040022 V.
