Furthermore, we have had a productive dialogue with the staff as to what design issues really
remain here. In this vein, attached you will find a letter from Laurence Lillig setting forth what he
and we believe are the remaining design issues. We are in substantial agreement with the additional
design modifications recommended in Mr. Lillig's attached letter and will commit appropriately to
amend our plans consistent with the Commission's ultimate decision. Unfortunately we have not
had time to modify our plans to include the amended plans in your packet of information. We fully
intend to present to you at the February 20 hearing amended renderings and elevations to detail how
exactly we propose to address Mr. Lillig's concerns as he expressed in the attached letter.
It is our intention to construct on this site one of the finest and most attractive drug stores in the
Osco family of stores. We have attempted over the course of the last many months to address all
architectural and design issues. I hope you will agree after review of our plans that this use,and our
specific design and architectural proposals, are exactly what the Commission had in mind when it
rezoned this Hazel Dell property to B-3 in 1995. Given the time constraints for development of this
site and the infrastructure for this and other contiguous business sites, I hope you will consider on
February 20th a final vote on this project.
In any event, I thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your
410- February 20 hearing.
Very truly yours,
J. lark
