The correct occupant load factor to be used on a grade floor is 30, per table 1004.1.1 of the 2008 Indiana Fire and Building codes. This will make the occupant load 94 and will require a second exit from the mercantile area per section 1015.1 of the IBC/IFC. Please provide a second exit from the mercantile area into your design to comply with the 2008 Indiana Fire And Building Codes and have plans resubmitted for review. Respectfully, Capt.
