Notice is hereby given that the Cannel Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing
Officer, at a regular meeting on Monday, the 25th day of August, 2014, at 5:30
p.m. in the City Hall Caucus Rooms, 1 Civic Square, Carmel, Indiana 46032,
will hold a Public Hearing upon the applications for Development Standards
Variances to the Carmel Zoning Ordinance for constructing an Accessory
Building (the guest house) in front of the Front Line of the Principal Building and
for the height of the guest house to exceed 18 feet on real estate located on the
south side of West 116th Street at 951 West 116th Street.
The applications and supplementary documentation may be viewed at the
City of Carmel Department of Community Services, One Civic Square, Carmel,
Indiana 46032. All interested persons desiring to present their views on the above
application, either in writing or verbally, will be given an opportunity to be heard
at the above - mentioned time and place, or may file written comments with the
Department of Community Services prior to the hearing. The hearing may be
continued from time to time as may be found necessary.

Attached to this letter is a notice of a forthcoming meeting of the Carmel Board of
Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer to be held on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. in the
Carmel City Hall, Caucus Rooms. Ennis Custom Homes, on behalf of owners Jeff and Liyan
McAteer, is requesting Development Standards Variances to the Carmel Zoning Ordinance to
construct an Accessory Building (a guest house) in front of the Front Line of the Principal
Residence and to permit the height of the guest house to be 22' -11 '' /2" (median height between
the highest ridge and the eave — 18' maximum) at 951 West 116th Street. I have enclosed the
formal Notice of Public Hearing, a location map, a site plan and the building elevations for your
use and reference.
This is a public hearing and you may want to attend; however, your attendance is not
required. If you have any questions or would like any additional information, please feel free to
