PROPERTY TRANSFER AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT
"AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AND CARMEL
CITY POLICE OFFICER SCOTT L. MOORE"
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Cannel, Carmel, Indiana, an Indiana municipal
corporation, by and through its Board of Public Works and Safety ( "City ") pursuant to I.C.5 -22-
22-6 to transfer ownership of Cannel Police Department canine "Saka ", a nine (9) year old
Police "K -9" currently serving the Carmel Police Department.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to transfer ownership of "Saka" to Officer Scott
L. Moore, due to Officer Moore taking a new assignment within the Carmel Police Department
and "Saka" nearing the end of his expected longevity as a Police Canine.
WHEREAS, Officer Scott L. Moore, an Officer with the Carmel Police Department and
"Saka's" handler for the past nine (9) years, is willing to take ownership of "Saka" and care for
him indefinitely.
IT IS THEREFORE AGREED THAT:
1. The Carmel City Police Department transfer ownership of "Saka" to Officer
Scott L. Moore.
2. Officer Scott L. Moore shall accept responsibility for future care and
maintenance of "Saka ".
3. Officer Scott L. Moore agrees to hold harmless the City of Carmel and its
officers, officials, employees, attorneys, agents, successors and assigns and
shall indemnify same, for any and all liability that may arise from or as a
result of the transfer of ownership of "Saka" to Officer Moore on or after the
date of this Resolution (See attached Exhibit "A ").

Dear Members:
I am requesting that ownership of our Canine Officer "Saka" be transferred from the
Carmel Police Department to Master Patrol Officer Scott L. Moore, of the Carmel Police
Department.
Officer Moore has taken a new assignment within the Carmel Police Department. Saka
has been in service for nine (9) years and is nearing the end of his expected longevity
as a Police Canine.
Officer Moore has been Saka's handler and is willing to accept full responsibility for the
future care and maintenance of Saka.

To Whom It May Concern:
In return for the gift of Canine Officer "Saka ", I, Master Patrol Officer Scott L. Moore, of
the Cannel Police Department, do hereby forever release and discharge the City of
Cannel, Indiana, its officers, officials, employees, attorneys, agents, successors and
assigns from any and all liability, claims, demands, controversies, damages, costs, and
expenses, actions and causes of actions, whatsoever, related to any loss or damage of any
kind or nature, resulting from any injuries or damages to any person or property as a
result of "Saka ", whom has been given to me for the maintenance and care of "Saka" and
hereby forever release the City of Cannel from such responsibility. This release shall be
binding upon and inure to the benefit of any successors, assigns, representatives, heirs,
executors, administrators, and agents of mine.
