Regional Geology , ; :v COR no-
The Site lies in the Tipton Till Plain physiographic unit of the State of The ei
Tipton Till Plain is typically flat to gently rolling ground moraines, punctuated by end moraines
and modest entrenchment of streams that provide some topographic variability.
Topsoil on the Site consists primarily of the Brookston and Crosby soil series. The
Brookston soil series is described by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation
Service as being deep, very poorly drained soils while the Crosby soil series is described as
deep, somewhat poorly drained soils formed in glacial till.
The unconsolidated natural deposits in the vicinity of the Site have been mapped by the
Indiana Geological Survey as being glacial tills. Tills commonly consist of a heterogeneous
mixture of clay, silt, sand and some gravel with scattered cobbles and boulders. It is not
uncommon for lenses of sand and gravel to be interbedded within the tills. Glacial drift
thickness is approximately 160 feet in this area.
The Site lies in the Scottsburg Lowland bedrock physiographic unit of the State of
Indiana. Bedrock beneath the Site is Devonian and Silurian age limestone, and occurs at an
elevation of approximately 725 feet mean sea level (msl).
Regional Hvdrozeologv
Water in this region is primarily withdrawn from both the sand and gravel and bedrock
aquifers. Properly constructed wells in this area may yield up to 100 gallons per minute (gpm).

Re: Carlson Office Complex
I/1 -1199'
I have reviewed the submittals for this expansion to the existing site. The current
proposal shows the construction of new buildings and the installation of a detention area
in the Northwest corner of the site. Because the proposed improvements will drain to
the US 421 right -of -way, which then flows South, no regulated drains are affected.
Therefore, no permits are required from this office.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact this office at 776-
8495.

Dear Technical Advisory Committee Member,
Enclosed you will find supplemental information to the ADLS application filed for the above referenced
project. We are requesting permission to construct a 10,000 square foot building at the south end of
the site and warehouse and storage to the rear of the property as shown on the enclosed site plan.
The site is located along the west side of U.S. 421 (Michigan Road) in the southwest corner of Clay
Township. It consists of approximately 5.0 acres and the zoning classification is designated as
Industrial (I -1) and is served by all public utilities.
We would like to begin construction as soon as possible and look forward to your comments.
Respectfully submitted,

RE: Carlson Office and
Storage Complex
Sec. 7, 19N, R3E
Dear Mr. Carlson,
I have reviewed your proposal and have the following
comments:
1. Drainage is a key item. The existing tile is suspect.
When is the proposed storm sewer to be installed?
2. Have jurisdictional wetlands been verified?
3. A detailed site plan is needed for plan review.
4. If the disturbed area exceeds 5 acres, a soil erosion
control plan must be submitted to this office and a Notice
of Intent submitted to IDEM.
If you should have further questions, please contact me at
the following telephone number 317- 773 -1432.
Sincerely,
