The signed originals were then taken directly to the Hamilton County Recorder's Office. These are now the official addresses. The Secondary Plat Amendment for Lakes at Hazel Dell, Section 1, Lots 141-142& 154-158(152-00 SP), signed by the Board of Public Works September 27, 2000, and recorded October 19, 2000 (Instr. #200000052511), has been received by the Department of Community Services. The original will be placed in the Plan Commission file and a copy in the subdivision file. One copy will be forwarded to the Department of Information Services, one to the Department of Communications, and one to Zaring Homes. The Secondary Plat Amendment for Delaware Trace, Section 2(148-00 SP), signed by the Board of Public Works September 6, 2000, and recorded October 19, 2000 (lnstr. #200000052512),has been received by the Department of Community Services. The original will be placed in the Plan Commission file and a copy in the subdivision file. One copy will be forwarded to the Department of Information Services, one to the Department of Communications, one to the Street Department and one to Oak View Associates. Given the lag between recording and receipt of the recorded originals for the Lakes at Hazel Dell, Section 1, I don't expect to have final recorded copies of 144-00 SP; 145-00 SP& 153-00 SP available for general distribution before April 22, 2001. Authority over street addressing in the City of Carmel and Clay Township, Indiana, resides in the Department of Communications pursuant to their responsibilities as Administrators of the Emergency Telephone System (E-911), not in the Department of Community Services. DOCS has not notified you of the change because it is not our jurisdiction. The Department of Community Services' involvement in this matter is comprised of the preparation of the necessary documents for accomplishing the Secondary Plat Amendment, signing on behalf of the Plan Commission, and forwarding the documents to the Department of Engineering for inclusion on the agenda of the Board of Public Works. The amendment in question pertained specifically to the lots noted above, which were originally assigned north-south addresses rather than east-west as they should have been. The Amendment has received approval from the Department of Communications; the Plan Commission, and the Board of Public Works. The Department of Community Services will take the document to the County for recording. Once the recorded copy has been returned to the City, we will be glad to forward you a duplicate. Is there a reason you have not notified us of this change? • I recently was copied on a BOW agenda and questioned why we were on there. I find out through my engineer, the City is taking this revision through. I think a little communication would go a long way from both our offices. I have asked you to call me as issues arise. Please do not rely on my engineer to communicate with me, I think this may avoid future problems. Please let me know what is going on. Are you revising a plat? Who will sign it? When will I get a recorded copy? Is the City going to pick up the bill to reprint my collateral material? Please let me know the answers to the above questions as soon as you can. It seems he changed addresses back in June and notified Keith Lash (sp?) about it. A permit was issued on June 2nd for one of these houses and the owner has already gotten all materials with the old address on them. Now the homeowner is complaining about the usual "who will pay for all my changes". I checked the secondary and it was recorded in July 1999, so a plat amendment would be required. This should not have been a problem if Keith had passed the addresses on to Zaring. At the request of Zaring (and having several addresses different here than what they thought they were supposed to be) an employee asked me to send them a list of the currrent addresses. What are we supposed to do with this one?
