I would like to submit this for our file and record on this petition. This is in response to an issue raised with the remonstration letter received yesterday. So far, we’ve yet to share, or had to address volume of the ordering speakers. The information contained with this email will hopefully address this concern. This is standard equipment on the drive through equipment and I am submitting to address the very concerns raised in the remonstration letter. All specification and information is attached. Summary of this material is that all systems are installed with automatic volume control. It basically senses the background, outside ambient noise and adjusts the projecting volume accordingly. Therefore, at night when there is little ambient noise, the system self-adjusts and does not project unnecessarily loud sound. All technical information is included for your reference, but saving the reading of the technical specs, this system basically adjust so 8 feet from the speaker, the noise is less than conversational speech in the typical residence. This information is submitted for the petition and should be shared or reproduced by the City without consent of McDonald’s. Should you have any questions on this, please call or reply accordingly. We will speak to this tonight should this issue arise in the public hearing. Thanks. Blair. My attention is to the fact that at 8’ from the speaker the decibel level is below the level of conversational speech in the typical residence (50db). (That is, of course, with no children.) Our outside DT lane is 10’, so this is the decibel level within the DT lane. 1 From: Momchev Tanya Sent: Tuesday, November 18, 2014 1:58 PM To: Cooke Gil Subject: FW: COD Level TB-XT-1 in the zip file is what you want to review – inbuilt sensor changes the noise from day to an ambient at night automatically I Tanya Momchev Project Manager I US Restaurant Design McDonalds USA LLC I 2111 McDonalds Drive, Dept 043 I Oak Brook IL 60523 phone: 630.623.2778 I cell: 630.418.9925 I fax: 630.214.5556 I e-mail: tanya.momchev@us.mcd.com link to Access McD US Restaurant Development The information contained in this e-mail and any accompanying documents is confidential, may be privileged, and is intended solely for the person and/or entity to whom it is addressed (i.e. those identified in the "To" and "cc" box).
