Furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and tools and perform all operations in connection with the installation of a complete plumbing system. All Work included in this Section shall meet all the Terms and Conditions and all Division requirements. This shall include, but not be limited to, compliance with all codes and authorities having jurisdiction, preparation of Record Documents, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, guarantees and warranties, protection of Work and quality assurance of workmanship. B. Section Includes: 1. All inside sanitary, grease waste, storm piping. 2. Sanitary and storm piping as shown on drawings connec t to on-site piping. 3. Cleanouts. 4. Exterior Grease Interceptor tank. 5. Exterior truck well drains at truck dock and compactor. 6. Excavation and backfill as it relates for Work in this section. C. Related Sections: 1. Division 1 - General Requirements (Submittals). 2. Division 2 - Site Work. 3. Division 7 - Moisture Protection (Firestopping, Joint Sealants). 4. Section 220000: General Requirements 5. Division 260000 - Electric. 1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. All Work Shall Comply with the Following List of Reference Standards: 1. American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). 2. American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM). 3. Underwriters' Laboratories (UL). 4. National Sanitations Foundation (NSF). 5. State or Local Board of Health. 6. American National Standards Institute (ANSI). 7. Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute (CISPI). 8. State or Local Plumbing Code. 9. International Plumbing Code (IPC). PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MANUFACTURERS All product model numbers used reference the first manufacturer listed for the appropriate item. A. Roof Drains: Josam, Zurn or JR Smith. B. Overflow Drain Outlets: Zurn, Josam or JR Smith. C. Trench Drain: ACO, Josam or Zurn. Grease Interceptor: Mack Ind, Camden Company or approved equal. E. Cleanouts: Josam, Zurn or JR Smith. F. Valves: 1. Ball-Type: Nibco, Wolverine, Apollo, Watts, or Walworth. 2. Gate Type: Nibco, Wolverine, Walworth or Kennedy. 2.02 MATERIALS A. Soil, Grease Waste, Storm and Waste Piping: 1. All soil, storm, waste and vent piping, except as otherwise noted, shall be schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with solvent cement joints. Fittings shall be of the drainage pattern. 2. (Only when PVC is not allowed by the local authorities) All soil, storm and waste piping, except as otherwise noted, shall be Standard weight cast iron, with size, weight and manufacturer's name on each length and fitting, and shall conform to ASTM Standard Specifications. Joints below ground shall be compression gaskets or no -hub with stainless steel couplings. B. Cold Water Piping: 1. Above Ground: Except as noted, shall be type "L" hard-drawn copper tubing with wrought copper, solder-type fittings; immediate exposed piping at fixtures shall be IPS copper, cast brass threaded fittings, all finished and chrome-plated, unless otherwise noted. Provide vacuum breakers where required by codes. 2. Below Ground Interior: Shall be Type "L" annealed copper tubing with flared type fittings. Run lines in IPS Corp. Or Jones Spec color-coded polyethylene sleeve. 3. Below Ground Exterior: Cement lined ductile iron pressure piping, Class 52 ANSI 21.52 Cement Lining as per ANSI / AWWA C 104/A21.4. C. Sleeves: Schedule 40 PVC pipe shall be furnished for piping through concrete floor; sleeve shall be one (1) size larger than pipe. All sleeves through concrete floors above ground shall extend 1" above floor and shall be installed at the time of pouring the concrete floor. All sleeves through all floors and through all masonry and firewalls shall be caulked airtight and sealed. 2.03 FIXTURES A. Trench Drains: 1. TD-2: Trash compactor, ACO Powerdrain S100K, refer to plans for size. Pre-cast trench drain extra heavy duty 4” wide, lock in place grate, integral ductile iron wear in at edge with polymer concrete body, shall comply and meet DIN 19580. Class F to 90 ton/200,000 LB loading. B. Cleanouts: 1. Cleanouts shall be installed for drainage piping where shown and as required by Code. 2. At the completion of the Work, remove cleanout covers, flush lines and grease threads. 3. FCO: No. 55004-1-SD, inside caulk, adjustable collar, bronze plug with a heavy duty 9" round satin finish, nickel bronze cover. 4. The back side of all floor cleanout covers and the top of the plug within the cleanout shall be clearly marked with a white paint pen to indicate what system the cleanout serves. Cleanouts on sanitary piping shall be marked "SAN." Cleanouts on storm piping shall be marked "STORM." Cleanouts on grease waste piping shall be marked "GREASE." C. Roof Drains: 1. Roof Drains No. 21500-1-2 series, 15" diameter roof drain, dura-coated cast iron body with combination membrane flashing clamp, drain receiver and large aluminum locking dome. Overflow Roof Drains: No. 21500-3 series, 15" diameter roof drain, dura- coated cast iron body, 4" high internal water collar with combination membrane flashing clamp, dra in receiver and large aluminum locking dome. 3. Overflow Drain Outlet: No. 25010, cast bronze, rough bronze finish, loose wall flange and threaded connection, with stainless steel screen. 2.04 EQUIPMENT A. Grease interceptor: 1. Exterior. Provide where indicated outside the building, an underground reinforced pre -manufactured, traffic bearing concrete tank of 1500 gallons minimum capacity with baffled inlet and outlet pipes for interception of grease. Provide two manhole extensions to grade consisting of a 24" reinforced concrete sewer pipe and cover with a cast-iron ring and cover manufactured by Mack Ind or equivalent. B. Catch basin drains at truck well and compactor: 1. Truck Well: 24” x 24” pre-cast inlet box with 10” high cast iron frame and grate. 2.05 FLAME SPREAD AND SMOKE DEVELOPED RATINGS A. In accordance with NFPA 255, ASTM E 84 or UL 723, the materials shall have a flame -spread rating of not more than 25 and a smoke-developed rating of not more than 50. B. Materials Tests: Test factory-applied materials as assembled. Field-applied materials may be tested individually. Use no fugitive or corrosive treatments to impart flame resistance. UL label or satisfactory certified test report from a testing laboratory will be required to indicate that fire hazard ratings for materials proposed for use do not exceed those specified. Flame-proofing treatments subject to deterioration due to effects of moisture or high humidity are not acceptable. 1. Materials Exempt from Fire-Resistant Rating: Nylon anchors. 2. Materials Exempt from Fire-Resistant Rating When Installed in Outside Locations, Buried, or Encased in Concrete: PVC casing and glass-fiber-reinforced plastic casing. END OF SECTION
