ELECTRICAL UTILITY SERVICE
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. In general primary cables, cable terminators, pad mounted transformer primary and secondary connections
at pad and pole work will be by local Power Company. Contractor shall verify with local utility.
B. Utility Company charges, if any.
C. Secondary service and cables.
1.02 RELATED WORK
A. Raceways.
B. Concrete Work.
C. Grounding.
1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Submittals are required for all materials specified herein in accordance with Specification Section 01300.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 PRIMARY MATERIALS
A. Material shall be as required by local Utility Company.
2.02 SECONDARY CONDUCTORS
A. Copper conductors with XLPE insulation, type USE, designed for direct burial, but installed in raceways.
B. Cables shall be 600 volt rated.
C. Cable identification shall indicate manufacturer's name, wire size, insulation type, voltage, etc.
D. Spade connectors and lug extensions as required to accommodate all service conductors a t transformer.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 PRIMARY INSTALLATION
A. Assist and coordinate work with local Utility Company as required.
B. Provide all grounding requirements in accordance with Utility Company standards.

C. Electrical Contractor will be responsible for excavation, backfill for transformer pad or vault and concrete
work performed by Utility Company.
D. Coordinate all work with local utility company to insure proper timing of installation and connection of
equipment.
3.02 SECONDARY INSTALLATION
A. All conductors shall be installed in raceways.
B. All conductors shall be terminated at transformer secondary per local Utility Company requirements.
C. The Utility Company will furnish and install the current transformers, meter and meter wiring.. The
Contractor shall provide an empty conduit, size as required by Utility Company, to the Main telephone
backboard, and meter socket.
D. Coordinate all work with local utility company to insure proper timing of installation and connectio n of
equipment.
