HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-2201-14 FAILED/Amend 3-15 (Clerk of the Council) SPONSOR(S): Finkam Carter Ride ORDINANCE D-2201-14 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL IND 1' NA AMENDING CHAPTER 3 ARTICLE 1 DIVISION II SECTION 3-15 a 4 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana ("City"), is a municipal corpor. ion and political subdivision of the State of Indiana, and the City's Common Council ("Coun ") is , thorized by Indiana Code 36-7-11-7 to approve the provisions of this ordinance; and, \\10 WHEREAS, Council meeting agendas are currently distri utreflJb,• the Clerk-Treasurer on the Thursday prior to the next Council meeting; and, WHEREAS, two business days is too short of a no 'ce perio' for citizens and interested parties to prepare to attend and address agenda items being disc , ed at C I I ncil meeting; and, / .:::. WHEREAS, in order to better serve cite s .genda should be produced::by the Clerk- Treasurer no later than the Tuesday prior to the ext ry�n• meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE I.' OR INE& by the Common Council of the City of Cannel, Indiana as follows: Section 1. The fore oing R cital 'ncorporated herein by reference. M s Section 2. If any portion of this Ordinance is declared unconstitutional, invalid or unenforceable by the valid judgment or decree of a court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality, invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect any of the remaining portions of same. Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, execution by the Mayor and such publication as is required by law.
