Follow-up on January items 2.) Development of upcoming events: A.) the Emerging Artists Show; B.) outdoor art event for the month of May C.) preparations for the Carmel on Canvas event Follow-up on January items Met with artist, Susie Gregory, whom 1 had recruited to Art Splash Gallery; helped her hang her paintings in Art Splash. Went to Platinum Living Gallery in Noblesville and met with the owner. Toured her gallery and discussed the benefits of relocating her gallery to Carmel. She was hesitant to make any commitments at that time, although she did say Long Sharp Gallery in Indianapolis might be interested. Left her with my business card. After checking with the lease-holder of the now-vacant Eye on Art Gallery, put original artwork in the windows for the February Gallery Walk. The artwork came from the galleries in the Carmel Arts and Design District in response to an email I had sent to all members of the Carmel Arts and Design District Gallery Association soliciting indications of interest. Worked with Susan Mauck the owner of French Bleu Gallery (who also supplied the easels)to display the artwork. Attended several networking meetings, such as the "Meet the Designers" at the Indian Design Center,to develop contacts and for outreach. Participated in a meeting with the Rhonda Long-Sharp owner of Long Sharp Gallery, Stephanie Marshall and Melanie from the Carmel Community Relations Department, and representatives from the Indiana Design Center. Emerging Artists Show Collaborated with Emily Winslip and Pamela Jaeger to design and distribute a "Call for Entries" for the Emerging Artists Show. The "Call for Entries" was sent the Hoosier Salon, Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, and the Hamilton County Art Association for distribution to their members. Approached potential sponsors for the show and discussed possibilities for publicity with Stephanie Marshall with the Carmel Community Relations Department. Outdoor Art Event for the Month of May Met with gallery owner Susan Mauck, artist Randall Scott Harden, and Stephanie Marshall at Inspire Studio and Gallery to discuss Susan's idea to have a month of plein air(outdoor) painting.--CADDGA-President Bob Shade was brought in to participate in the planning and - implementation. After much deliberation and discussion the working title of the event is "Drawn to the District". Parameters were determined.The event will run 4 consecutive weekends in the month of May, information will be sent to various art organizations for distribution to their membership, all art mediums acceptable, will invite area merchants to participate, will engage with area dance troupes and musicians to participate. Details will continue to be developed. Still need to plan for inclement weather. Carmel on Canvas Located list of artist participants from the 2014 Carmel on Canvas event and researched their contact information. Made a spreadsheet with the contact information for the artists. Met with Emily Winslip of the Hoosier Salon and Stephanie Marshall to create a "Save the Date" email to send out to the artists from 2014 Carmel on Canvas. Met with co-chair Jerry Points to discuss overall structure of the event: what was done in 2014 and how it can be improved in 2015. Updated him on progress and current status. Made an outline of my notes from that meeting, and contacted Emily Winslip to email a copy of the "Save the Date"to Jerry. Emailed a copy of my outline to Jerry.
