RECENT PROJECTS
Economic Development / Marketing
Destination Carmel: Continue researching photos and histories for
project in conjunction with Indiana Historical Society. Destination Carmel
will tell the story of Carmel's history and of its future development for
visitors — both local and tourists — who visit the Indiana Historical Society in
downtown Indianapolis.
IUPPI project: Coordination of meeting, attendance at meetings and
continued to research facts and statistics to provide to researchers at
Indiana University Public Policy Institute for its major study on Carmel's
performance regarding assessed value as it pertains to our redevelopment
areas.
New Carmel App: Review and CMS training on new Carmel App
geared toward visitors and tourists. Application will use GPS technology to
steer visitors to local businesses for shopping, dining and entertainment.
Business inventory: Constant updating of local database of
—corporate headquarters and other businesses in the Arts & Design District,
City Ce'nt'er',--
enter, other areas of the city for purposes of sharing with media, -site-

New website: Continue early design phase of future Economic
Development web pages planned for city website. Researching other sites,
gathering information and input from the business community, exploring
options with web experts for future launch.
Midtown Projects: Worked closely with Old Town Design Group
regarding various announcements, media relations, press conferences, etc.
for recent and future announcements on projects in Midtown.
Bike share program: Worked closely with city staff and Za ster

officials on launch of Carmel's new bike-sharing program, including
research, media releases, press conference, etc.
Costar Group: Continued research and discussion into proposal to
contract with Costar Group for purpose of making detailed information
about commercial properties in Carmel available to anyone accessing the
new Economic Development web pages.
Facebook change: As a result of a change mandated by Facebook,
researched and ultimately carried out switch of city's primary Facebook
page from a "friend" to a "like" page.
Main Street closure: Worked with city staff to coordinate information
release of Main Street project; then worked one-on-one with affected
businesses and institutions, including St. Christopher Episcopal Church
and Joe's Auto Shop to address concerns and minimzed issues during
street closure.
U.S. 31 project: Worked with the Indiana Department of
Transportation on an "open house" to announce summer project of
completing the U.S. 31 upgrade through Carmel, and several related
projects near the construction area.

#31 BITES: Began brainstorming ideas to repeat 2014 initiative to
encourage local residents to support restaurants, shops and other
businesses along the U.S. 31 corridor during the heavy construction
season.
ONGOING PROJECTS
Village of West Clay: Continue to brainstorm ideas to help the
business district within the Village of West Clay sustain a vibrant
commercial area to serve its residents and others.
Pilot Talent Attraction: Continue to work with local businesses and —
economic development officials on a new targeted approach to attracting
top talent to Carmel and Hamilton County. Continue to serve as city's
representative on this Tactical Economic Development group in association
with Invest Hamilton County.
Carmel Caffeine Trail: A small hiccup occurred when one of our key
organizers from the business community moved out of state. Have.since
regrouped with others and plans continue to create an official "Caffeine
Trail" in the Arts & Design District and City Center to drive tourists and local
residents to Carmel's many locally-owned and operated coffee shops and
tea shops.
Carmel City Map: Continue to work closely with city staff to finalize a
project that will include a new printed city street map.
Google Business View: Working with city staff to implement plan to
use Google 360 as an economic development tool that will help promote
local businesses, local attractions and other features of Carmel.
Golftown planning: Working closely with city staff to brainstorm
ideas for the "Golftown" event that will take place in 2016 in conjunction
with BMW Championship golf tournament to be held at Crooked Stick.
Human Relations Committee: Continue to work with this committee
on planning events designed to further goals of this committee, including
the celebration of diversity in Carmel.
Information requests:
>>> Worked closely with Corrie Meyer, executive director of the
Carmel Redevelopment Commission, on a variety or projects to further the
CRC mission of redevelopment in Carmel; including community relations,
media relations, social media outreach, research and consultation.
>>> Researched information for Invest Hamilton County researchers.
>>> Worked with various city employees and contractors to research
information and provide to local media.
>>> Worked closely with the Indiana Economic Development
Corporation on a variety of needs related to company information requests,
press announcements and other action items designed to boost economic
development and job growth in Carmel.
>>> Worked with city staff on daily media requests — including
Angie's List Magazine, Inside Indiana Business, Indianapolis Star,
Indianapolis Business Journal, Current in Carmel, Butler University
journalism students, WISH-8, Fox 59, WRTV-6, WTHR-13, WTTV-4, WIBC,
and others.

Cultural Identification project: Continued to work with staff and
others on project designed to further identify various cultural and
geographically unique aspects of Carmel as a way to further enhance
attraction of economic development and visitors. This will be an ongoing
project.
Public Art: Continued to work with consultant, staff, on potential
projects involving public art in Carmel. All projects discussed were
designed to strategically attract visitors and economic development to
Carmel. This will be an ongoing project.
Media and Press Conferences: Worked with city staff on several
press releases and press conferences.
Social Media: Continued to assist city officials with use of social
media to publicize and inform residents and the public on a variety of
matters.
