PROVIDE POSITIVE DRAINAGE IN ALL PAVED AREAS WITHOUT PONDING WATER. THE PAVING CONTRACTOR SHALL TEST ALL PAVED AREAS FOR BIRD BATH CONDITIONS BY FLOODING THE ENTIRE PAVEMENT AREA WITH WATER AND MARKING THE PONDED AREAS PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE TOPPING COURSE. CORRECTION SHALL BE MADE IF NECESSARY. 2. TRENCHES FOR ALL UTILITIES SHALL BE BACKFILLED COMPLETELY WITH APPROVED ENGINEERED GRANULAR MATERIAL. WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY BACKFILL MUST MEET CITY STANDARDS. SEE THE APPROPRIATE DEfAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR APPROVED MATERIALS. 5. ALL PROPOSED SPOT ELEVATIONS ARE THE FINAL TOP OF PAVEMENT, TOP OF CURB OR FINAL GRADE ELEVATION. 6. TO DEfERMINE THE SUBGRADE ELEVATION REQUIRED BELOW A PROPOSED FINAL ELEVATION, SEE APPROPRIATE DETAIL. 7. HEAVY CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT TRAFFIC MAY CREATE GENERAL DEfERIORATION OF THE SHALLOWER SOILS IF EXCESS SURFACE WATER IS PRESENT. PROPER PRECAUTIONARY STEPS MUST BE TAKEN DURING THE ENTIRE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE TO ALLEVIATE SUCH DAMAGE. 8. EXISTING PAVEMENT, SIDEWALKS CURBS DRIVEWAYS, ELECTRICAL TRANSFORMERS AND PADS, DITCHES, DRAINAGE PIPES, AND STRUCTURES, FENCES, LAWNS, TREES, BUSHES, MAILBOXES, SIGNS, POWER POLES ETC., TO REMAIN AND BE PROTECTED FROM DAMAGE BY THE CONTRACTOR. ANY DAMAGE DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RESTORED, RECONSTRUCTED OR REPLACED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT HIS EXPENSE. ALL DAMAGES SHALL BE RESTORED OR REPLACED TO AT LEAST THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION OR AS REQUIRED OR DICTATED BY FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY, CITY OR LOCAL AGENCIES TO THE SATISFACTION OF THESE AGENCIES. 9. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR OR CONTRACTORS TO OBTAIN ALL FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY, CITY OR LOCAL PERMITS FOR ANY AND ALL WORK REQUIRED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. WATER MAY BE USED AS A REDUCER. 11. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO ACQUAINT THEMSELVES WITH THE SOIL CONDITIONS. 12. ALL EXISTING MANHOLES AND CATCH BASIN GRATES, WATER OR GAS VALVES SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO NEW FINISH GRADE ELEVATION. 13. CONTRACTOR MUST COORDINATE SCHEDULE OF WORK WITHIN THIS CONTRACT WITH THE ENGINEER. UTILITY WORK & PIPING OF THE DITCH ALONG THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE MAY OR MAY NOT BE COMPLEfED BY THE TIME THE FINAL GRADING TAKES PLACE ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE PARKING GARAGE. 14.
