MAYOR March. 26, 1974 DEPARTMENT OF METROPOLITAN DEVELOPMENT DIVISION OF PLANNING AND ZONING 2041 CITV - COUNTY BUILDING INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA 48204 (317) 0333434 REFERENCE: ANNEXATION ORDINANCE - WEST HALF OF KEYSTONE BETWEEN 116th STREET AND 106th STREET AND ALL OF THE ROAD RIGHT -OF -WAY BETWEEN 106th STREET AND 96th STREET, TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: On March 20, 1974 the Metropolitan Development Commission approved the request by the Carmel Town Board of Trustees to annex the following area: west half of Keystone between 116th Street and 106th Street and all of the road right -of -way between 106th Street and 96th Street; said annexation within four miles of the'perimeter of the City of Indianapolis. Ross Vogelge an FRV:jk ORDINANCE NO. e:5757 2363 BOO 142 PAG 32 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA, ANNEXING CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY TO THE SAID TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL, COUNTY OF HAMILTON, STATE OF INDIANA, THAT: SECTION I. WHEREAS, the Town of Carmel, Indiana, wishes to annex contiguous territory to the said Town, and, WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of said Town being duly advised finds that the area to be annexed is bordered on one - fourth (3) of its aggregate external boundaries by the boundaries of the Town and that the said area to be annexed is needed and can be used by the Town for its future development in the reason- ably near future; the Board of Trustees further finds that the Town of Carmel has developed a fiscal plan and has established a definite policy to furnish the territory to be annexed within a period of three (3) years, governmental and proprietary services substantially equivalent in standard and scope to the governmental and proprietary services furnished by the Town of Carmel tocther areas of the Town which have characteristics of topography, patterns of land utilization and population density similar to the territory to be annexed. SECTION II. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA, that the following described real estate be and it is hereby annexed and made a part of the Town of Carmel, Hamilton County, Indiana: Commence at the northermost point of the west side of the right -of -way for Keystone Avenue, also known as Indiana State Road 431, and proceed south along the westernmost side of that right -of -way for said highway to the southernmost point of that right -of -way for 96th Street; thence east along the southernmost portion of that right -of -way for said 96th Street to the eastern edge of the right -of -way for Keystone Avenue; thence north along the eastern edge of the right -of -way for said Key- SECTION III. 142 pAGF 3.3 That immediately upon the passage of this ordinance, the C1etk- Treasurer of the Town of Carmel, Indiana, is hereby authorized and directed to publish a copy of this ordinance for two (2) consecutive weeks in both the Noblesville Daily Ledger, a daily newspaper of general circulation, and the Noblesville Times, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, both of which are published in the City of Noblesville, Hamilton County, Indiana; and the said Clerk - Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to cause the ordinance to be posted as by law provided. SECTION IV. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage.
