ORDINANCE D-2190-14
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL,INDIAN ,
AMENDING CARMEL CITY CODE SECTION 8-120 AND ITS "SCHEDULE A"
WHEREAS,.the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana (the "City"), has e authority,
pursuant to City Code Section 8-30 and Indiana Code Sections 9-21-1-3(a)(7) and 9-21-4-11, re establish and
remove vehicular traffic stops at intersections within the City's corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, based upon an engineering and traffic investigation, the Corn on Council now finds
that public safety and welfare are best served by removing certain vehicular sto g intersections currently
established and identified in "Schedule A" to City Code Section 8-120, and by as oing certain new vehicular
stop intersections thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Corn ',on 'ouncil of the City of Carmel,
Indiana, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are incorporated her is is reference.
Section 2. The following vehicular stop intersections sh. be removed from "Schedule A" of Chapter
8, Article 9, Section 120 of the Carmel City Code, to-wit:

126th Street Eastbound 4-Way Stop Auman Drive A ;
Auman Drive Northbound 4-Way Stop 126th Street

Circle Drive Eastbound Stop US 31
Section 3. The following vehi j ar stop intersections shall be added to "Schedule.A" of Chapter 8,
Article 9, Section 120 of the Cannel Pity Code, to-wit:
DIRECTION
STREET NAME 0 TRAVEL SIGN INTERSECTING STREET
Auman Drive Northbound 1-Way Stop 126th Street
Lexington Blvd Southbound Stop 126th Street
141st Street Westbound 3-Way Stop Little Eagle Creek
141st Street Eastbound 3-Way Stop Little Eagle Creek
Circle Drive Eastbound 3-Way Stop Circle Drive
Section 4. The Carmel Street Department shall ensure that the traffic signage at the locations
addressed this Ordinance complies with the changes set forth herein.

Section 5. The remaining provisions of Carmel City Code Sections 8-30 and 8-120 (and its
"Schedule A") are not affected by this Ordinance and shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 6. All prior ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed, to the extent of such inconsistency only, as of the effective date of this Ordinance.
However, the repeal or amendment by this Ordinance of any other ordinance does not affect any rights or
liabilities accrued, penalties incurred or proceedings begun prior to the effective date of this Ordinance.
Those rights, liabilities and proceedings are continued and penalties shall be imposed and enforced under
such repealed or amended ordinance as if this Ordinance had not been adopted.
Section 7. If any portion of this Ordinance is declared to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance so long as enforcement of same can
be given the same effect.
Section 8. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage,
execution by the Mayor, and publication as required by law.
