CARMEL HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 11,2015,6:00 P.M.
CAUCUS ROOM,CARMEL CITY HALL
In attendance:
Members: Carol Schleif,Jennifer Hershberger, Becky Feigh, Luci Snyder, Curtis Butcher
Advisory: Nick Davis
HPC Administrator: Mark Dollase,Raina Regan

1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:54 P.M.by Chairperson Carol Schleif.
2. Roll Call
Commission members Carol Schleif,Becky Feigh,Luci Snyder, Curtis Butcher, and Jennifer
Hershberger are in attendance. Advisory member Nick Davis is in attendance.
3. Approval of Minutes(3-12-15, 5-14-15)
Due to a lack of a quorum of members who attended the March 12,2015 and May 14,2015
meetings, adoption of the minutes are tabled till next meeting.
4. Hearing of Visitors
No discussion
5. Certificate of Appropriateness
No discussion
6. Report on Staff Approvals
No discussion
7. Financial Report—Luci
Indiana Landmarks submitted an invoice for services for January to June 2015.
8. Old Business
a. Rules of Procedure Updates
i. No movement on updates to the rules of procedure. Two commission members will
meet with Commission staff to make updates.
b. Certified Local Government Application
i. Staff continuing to work on the CLG application. Still waiting on resumes from
several Commission members,who have been notified.
9. New Business
a. Certificate of Appropriateness application
i. Commission staff compiled different applications from other Certificate of
Appropriateness applications for commission members to review. They will be
compiled and a Certificate of Appropriateness application for the Commission will
be prepared prior to the next month.
b. Cannel Monon Depot
i. Nick Davis, Carmel Clay Historical Society(CCHS), President,presented the idea
to the CCHS board of designating the Cannel Monon Depot. Board had questions
regarding the designation. The CCHS will explore replotting to subdivide the
archive and depot buildings prior to seeking historic district designation.
10. Announcements
Indiana Landmarks 8th Annual Mid-Century Modem Home Tour was in Muncie on May 30th.
Indiana Landmarks plans to bring it to Carmel in 2016.A local planning committee will be
formed to help plan the event.
11. Adjournment
Jennifer Hershberger moves to adjourn the meeting,Luci Snyder seconds.Motion passes (5-0).
Meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
