HomeMy WebLinkAboutDoug Callahan/Fire Station 45; 2015-06-23-01 i RESOLUTION NO. 2015-06-23-01 RESOLUTION OF THE CLAY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF HAMILTON COUNTY, INDIANA WHEREAS, the Township Board (the "Board") of Clay, Township, Hamilton County, Indiana (the "Township") met at a duly called and authorized meeting of the Board on the date set forth below, such meeting being called pursuant to a notice stating the time, place and purpose of the meeting received by all the Board members, and the following resolution was made, seconded, and adopted by those present at the meeting, which constituted a majority of the Board: WHEREAS, Douglas Callahan, the current Trustee of the Township, has had a long history of public service with the Carmel Fire Department as a firefighter, lieutenant, captain and Chief of the Department, retiring from the Department in 2007 with 34 continuous years of public safety service; and WHEREAS, Douglas Callahan was elected as the Trustee of the Township in November of 2006 and was overwhelmingly reelected as the Trustee of the Township in 2010 and 2014 by the citizens of the Township; and WHEREAS, with more than 42 years of public service to the citizens of Clay Township and,the City of Cannel, it is fitting and proper that the Township formally recognize Douglas Callahan as a dedicated public servant who has given selflessly of his time and talents in service to his fellow citizens and in the public interest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Carmel Fire Station 45 located at 10701 N. College Avenue shall be rededicated as the"Douglas Callahan Fire Station." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Township shall purchase and display an appropriate dedicatory plaque and such additional signage commemorating the dedication of the Douglas Callahan Fire Station as shall be designated by a designee of the Board. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board hereby expresses, on behalf of the citizens of the Township, its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Douglas Callahan for his years of unfailing service and dedication to the public. Adopted by the Township Board of Clay Township of Hamilton County, Indiana, this 23rd day of June, 2015.
