Adopted June 9th 2008 - “There will be no new direct access and/or change of access
usage allowed onto 146th Street without the express approval of the County
Commissioners. Any access changes to existing access locations and/or new access
locations would only be considered if a traffic impact study, meeting County
requirements, shows the requested change would improve the Level of Service of 146th
Street.”
Traffic Study Requirements
In addition to the following, the TIA must conform to the Indiana Department of
Transportation’s “Applicant’s Guide to Traffic Impact Studies”:
- Introduction and Executive Summary
- Seal and signature of a licensed Professional Engineer
- Study area (to be decided)
- Study years (development opening, 5 years & 10 years)
- Development phasing
- Current data on traffic volumes, accident history and signal operations
- Peak traffic hours
- Trip generation, trip distribution and assignment methods (ITE handbook)
- Applicable planning documents
- Projected growth
- Current Level of Service of surrounding intersections (to be decided)
- Planned roadway improvements
- Surrounding zoning, PUD’s, etc.
A site plan with the following:
- Intersection design (lane width, acceleration/deceleration lanes, median
improvements, etc.)
- Internal circulation patterns
- Connections to planned/proposed adjacent sites
