GENERAL HVAC NOTES
1. INSTALLATIONS SHALL CONFORM WITH ALL FEQERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS, ORDINANCES, CODES,
AND GOVERNING JURISDICTIONS, ETC.,
2. ANY CONFLICT OR DISCREPAN�Y BETWEEN DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS SHALL RESULT IN THE
MOST STRINGENT APPLICATION AND SHOULD BE BID AS SUCH. CONTRACT DOCUMENTS CONSIST OF
BOTH PROJECT MANUAL AND DRAWINGS AND BOTH ARE MEANT TO BE COMPLEMENTARY - ANYTHING
APPEARING ON EITHER MUST BE EXECUTED THE SAME AS IF SHOWN ON BOTH IN THE INTEREST OF
PROVIDING A FULLY FUNCTIONING AND OPERABLE SYSTEM(S).
3. DRAWINGS ARE SCHEMATIC IN NATURE AND SHOW GENERAL AREAS FOR PIPING AND DUCTWORK
ROUTING. COORDINATE PIPING AND DUCTWORK WITH ALL OTHER TRADES PRIOR TO FABRICATION.
DUCTWORK ELEVATIONS SHALL BE INDICATED ON SHEET METAL SHOP DRAWINGS AFTER
COORDINATION BETWEEN TRADES AND PRIOR TO FABRICATION.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL THOROUGHLY EXAMINE THE WORK OF OTHER CONTRACTORS PRIOR TO
SUBMITTING A BID PROPOSAL AND SHOP DRAWINGS.
5. C40RDINATE ALL OPENINGS IN ROOF, FLOORS, OR WALLS WITH GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND
STRUCTURAL CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO ANY WORK.
�. CLEARANCES INDICATED ARE BASED UPON BEST AVAILABLE ARCHITECTURAL/STRUCTURAL
INFORMATION. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY PIPING, DUCTWORK, ETC., ROUTING PRIOR TO SUBMITTING
A BID PROPOSAL AND INCLUDE ANY SUCH COSTS AS REQUIRED TO INSTALL WORK AS SHOWN AND
INTENDED TO PROVIDE A COMPLETE AND WORKING SYSTEM.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE IN BID PROPOSAL ALL COSTS REQUIRED TO COMPLETELY AND
PROPERLY INSTALL ALL WORK REQUIRED FOR THE PROJECT. REVIEW/COORDINATE THE QOCUMENTS
OF OTHER TRADES THAT REQUIRE WORK DONE BY THIS DIVISION.
8. COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION OF ALL PIPING, DUCT AND ASSOCIATED ITEMS WITH ITEMS REQUIRING
STRUCTURAL SUPPORT ABOVE THE CEILING {I.E. PROJECTORS, LAB EQUIPMENT, MOVEABLE
PARTITIONS ETC. )
9. C40RDINATE ALL EQUIPMENT, DUCTWORK, AND/OR PIPING LAYOUTS WITH ALL OTHER TRADES PRIOR
TO ANY WORK OR FABRI�ATION OF MATERIALS.
10. PROVIDE CONCRETE HOUSEKEEPING PADS FOR ALL EQUIPMENT (FURNACES, CONDENSING UNITS,
FCU'S, ETC.} USE 2X4 FORMS FOR HEIGHT OF CURBS. REFER TO MECHANICAL VIBRATION
SPECIFICATI�NS FOR OTHER REQUIREMENTS. INSTALL HVAC UNITS LEVEL.
11. NOT ALL VALVES AND ACCESSORIES ARE SHOWN ON PLANS FOR CLARITY. REFER TO DETAILS AND
SCHEMATICS AND AS REQUIRED BY BALANCING AND SEQUENCE QF OPERATIONS.
12. OUTSIDE AIR INTAKES SHALL BE LOCATED A MINIMUM OF 1Q'-0" AWAY FROM ANY EXHAUST DUCT,
BLOWER DISCHARGE, PLUMBING VENTS, ETC.
13. FLEXIBLE DUCT LENGTH SHALL NOT EXCEED 5'-0" {UNO}, AND BE USED ONLY ON FINAL SUPPLY AIR
DIFFUSER. PROPER SUPPORT SHALL BE CONSIDERED TO AVOID PINCHING OF THE FLEXIBLE DUCT.
14. PAINT THE INTERIOR SURFACE OF DUCTS (WHERE VISIBLE} THROUGH GRILLES, DIFFUSERS ETC. USE
FLAT'DTM' {DIRECT TO METAL), NON-SPECULAR BLACK PAINT.
15. DUCT BRANCH TO DIFFUSER/GRILLE TO BE EQUAL TO NECK SIZE OF DIFFUSER/GRILLE UNO.
16. EQUIPMENT AND MANUFACTURERS SCHEDULED ARE INTENDED TO SHOW A MINIMUM STANDARD OF
QUALITY, AND ARE NOT INTENDED TO LIMIT COMPETITION. REFERENCE THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR
OTHER APPROVED MANUFACTURERS. IF THE CONTRACTOR PROVIQES EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN BY
THE MANUFACTURER SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, THEN IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
CONTRACTOR TO INSURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT FITS IN THE DELEGATED SPACE (INCLUDING ANY
REQUIRED CLEARANCES} AND TO PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL WORK OR ACCESSORIES RESULTING FROM
