Development of Art Events: A.) Rain on Main B.) Carmel on Canvas C.) July Gallery Walk Rain on Main Attended the meeting with Sue Maki presiding. Suggested Woodland Trace might be interested in sponsoring the event. Reached out to Woodland Trace, made the introduction, and soft- pitched the event. They seemed very happy about the opportunity to interact with the City and the Carmel Community through the Rain on Main event. Attended the ADDBAC meeting& introduced the Rain on Main event. The business owners in attendance were very interested in participating in the event. Advised them I would have more information soon. Emailed the information when I received it from Sue Maki. Picked up flyers from Sue Maki to hand out to those business owners and artists that want to participate in the event. Displayed the flyers in my gallery and gave them to the artists that came to the Monday morning class. Discussed the project with other artists and asked them to paint one. Spoke with Debbie at the Hamilton County Art Association and asked for the names and contact phone numbers of artists that had participated in the Cicero Rain Barrel project last year. She said she will contact the person who ran the event and would email it to me. ` Contacted former participants in the Cicero rain barrel competition, gave information about the Carmel event. Picked up several Rain Barrels from the Carmel Department of Water Management facility on West Main Street near Shelbourne Road. Brought them to Inspire Studio & Gallery for artists to pick-up and worked with the Carmel Water Department to pick-up rain barrels to store until the August 15t Farmers Market. Hosted rain barrel painting events in Inspire Studio & Gallery to encourage participation. One of the painting events was filmed by WISH-TV news crew and aired on the news. Also was interviewed by Eric Halverson of WISH-TV news as well as local Periscope internet news. Development of the Art District/ Galleries Worked with the CCA formally of Zionsville to get settled into their new gallery space. Strongly recommended a pop-up gallery and helped them get their new gallery ready& some publicity for the July Gallery Walk. Shared information on how they could build standards like the ones in my Gallery to help maximize their display space. Suggested they participate in the Rain on Main event. Picked up a rain barrel for them to decorate. Talked with Eric Halverson of WISH news and had three of the Artists paint a rain barrel at my gallery so that they would get the exposure and accompanied publicity for their gallery. Suggested they open their gallery as a pop-up for the Art of Wine event while their renovations continue. Carmel on Canvas Met with Nancy Heck and Stephanie Marshall regarding the Carmel on Canvas to determine the event parameters. Began talking with potential sponsors about the opportunity. Developed a sponsorship letter, spoke with potential sponsors, and discussed ways they could get involved. Developed purchase award concept with Jerry Points and discussed the next steps. Lined up Anne Blair Brown as the Judge for the event. Reviewed the preliminary prospectus, began lining up volunteers, contacted Tom and Chuck Lazzara to see if the empty lot across from Bub's could be used. Scouted out other areas of Carmel that could be utilized after confirming the Lazzara lot was not available. Planning for July Gallery Walk Touched base with all the Galleries in the District to find out their plans for the July Gallery Walk. I sent the information to Megan McVicker. I also asked the Galleries what classes they were hosting so that information could also be displayed on the Carmel Arts and Design District website.
