3. MAINTENANCE SHALL BE PERFORMED AS NOTED IN THE SWPPP. DEPTH OF ACCUMULATED SEDIMENTS MAY NOT EXCEED
ONE-HALF THE HEIGHT OF THE FABRIC. MAINTENANCE CLEANOUT MUST BE CONDUCTED REGULARLY TO PREVENT
ACCUMULATED SEDIMENTS FROM REACHING ONE-HALF THE HEIGHT OF THE SIFT FENCE MATERIAL BEING ABOVE GRADE.

1. MINIMUM DIMENSIONS: 50'x20'x1.5' (LENGTH, WIDTH AND SUMP
DEPTH. THE MINIMUM LENGTH INCLUDES INGRESS AND EGRESS
FROM THE SUMP.
2. THE AGGREGATE SIZE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE PAD SHALL BE
4-6 INCH STONE. PLACE THE GRAVEL TO THE SPECIFIC GRADE
AND DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON THE PLANS, AND SMOOTH OUT.
3. THE THICKNESS OF THE PAD SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 8 INCHES.
USE GEOTEXTILE FABRIC UNDER THE GRAVEL TO IMPROVE
STABILITY OF THE FOUNDATION.
4. ALTERNATIVELY, INSTALL 3" ASPHALT LIFT OVER A STABLE
ROADWAY BASE WITH THE SAME DIMENSIONS IDENTIFIED ABOVE.
5. THE RUN-OUT PAD SHALL EXTEND 50' PAST EGRESS RAMP AND
DRAIN BACK INTO SUMP, OR TO A SUITABLE COLLECTION AND
TREATMENT FACILITY.
6. INSTALL FENCING, AS NECESSARY, TO MANAGE VEHICLE TRAFFIC.
7. INSPECT ROUTINELY TO ASSESS THE WATER LEVELS WITHIN THE
SUMP, THE DEPTH OF ACCUMULATED SEDIMENT AND IDENTIFY AND
AREAS THAT REQUIRE MAINTENANCE.
8. REMOVE ACCUMULATED SEDIMENT FROM THE TIRE WASH FACILITY
TO MAINTAIN TIRE WASH SUMP DEPTH. SEDIMENT MAY BE
PUMPED, PIPED OR VACUUMED TO A SUITABLE COLLECTION AND
TREATMENT FACILITY.
9. CLEAN OR REPLACE ROCK WHEN CLOGGED WITH SEDIMENT AND
RE-GRADE AS NEEDED.
10. MAINTAIN THE RUN-OUT PAD AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT
SEDIMENT ACCUMULATION.
11. IMMEDIATELY REMOVE AND ROCK THAT IS CARRIED FROM THE PAD
TO THE ROADWAY.
12. ENSURE THAT WASH WATER DRAINAGE, COLLECTION AND
TREATMENT SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING.
