Coordinate piping and ductwork with all other trades prior to fabrication. Ductwork elevations shall be indicated on sheet metal shop drawings after coordination between trades and prior to fabrication. 3.These drawings are intended to document the general requirements of / for the mechanical systems. They may not be complete in every respect. The M.C. is required to provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and accessories, etc. for a complete and operational installation, whether or not indicated on these documents. 4.Submittals for all equipment, materials, or products must be provided by M.C. and approved prior to installation. 5.Flexible duct shall be limited to lengths shown on plans. 6.Flexible ducts shall be routed and supported in a fashion to avoid pinching or crushing of the pipe. 7.All non-insulated flexible duct connections to hard duct and diffusers shall be strapped (zip tied) at the flexible inner liner of the duct. 8.Insulated flexible duct connections to hard duct and diffusers shall be strapped (zip tied) by the flexible inner liner of the duct. Once secure, the insulation and outer vapor barrier shall be pulled over the inner liner connection and then strapped to the hard duct. Care shall be taken to verify that no hard duct is exposed at the connection. 9.%HGURRPGRRUVVKDOOEHXQGHUFXW´WRSURYLGHUHOLHIIRUUHWXUQDLUEDFNWRXQLW 10.Coordinate all openings in roof, floors, or walls with general contractor and structural contractor prior to commencing work. 11.Coordinate all penetrations of building exterior (dryer vents, bath vents to exterior wall, bath vents to eves) with G. C. 12.Any conflict or discrepancy between drawings and specifications shall result in the most stringent applications and should be bid as such. Contract documents consist of both project manual and drawings and both are meant to be complimentary. Anything appearing on either must be executed the same as if shown on both in the interest of providing a fully functioning and operable system(s). 13.Equipment and manufacturers scheduled and / or specified are intended to show a minimum VWDQGDUGRITXDOLW\DQGDUHEDVHGRQWKHRZQHU¶VSUHIHUHQFH2WKHUQRQVSHFLILHG non-scheduled manufacturers will not be considered. If the contractor submits equipment other than by the manufacturer shown on the drawings and in the specifications, it may be rejected, or subject to review by the architect, engineer, or owner. 14.Any changes or modifications made to this project that deviate from the plans as shown, other than changes made in coordination with other trades or as a result of unforeseen structural obstructions, must be approved in writing by the engineer of record. 15.Clearances indicated are based upon best available architectural / structural information. Contractor shall verify piping, ductwork, sprinkler lines, and electrical routing prior to submitting a bid / proposal and include any associated costs as required to install work as shown and intended to provide a complete and functional system. 16.Coordinate the installation of all piping, duct and associated items with items requiring structural support above the ceiling (i.e. projectors, movable partitions, can lights etc.) 17.Route condensate piping to nearest discharge point, by gravity. The use of pumps to eliminate condensate should be avoided wherever possible. 18.Route / locate condensate drain piping so it will not be a trip hazard. 19.Insulate all condensate drain piping, inside the building that is located in a place where conditions may exist to cause condensation. 20.Not all valves and accessories necessary to make this a complete and functioning project may be shown on the plans. It is incumbent on all subcontractors to provide all elements and components necessary to make this a complete and fully functional project. 21.Install all HVAC units level. 22.Ground mounted outdoor equipment shall be placed on a concrete or polypropylene pad. 23.)ROORZDOOPDQXIDFWXUHUV¶UHFRPPHQGDWLRQVZLWKUHJDUGVWRRXWGRRUHTXLSPHQWVSDFLQJDQG clearance for proper air flow and serviceability. 24.Coordinate installation of outdoor units with site engineer, electrician, landscape contractor, and sidewalk contractor. 25.2XWVLGHDLULQWDNHVVKDOOEHORFDWHGDPLQLPXPRI¶DZD\IURPDQ\H[KDXVWGXFWEORZHU discharge, plumbing vent, or source of noxious or hazardous fumes. 26.Provide tagging system that identifies equipment and area served as required. 27.Fire stop pipe penetrations of rated walls or structure as required by local code. 28.Paint interior surfaces visible through return air grills. Use flat black paint, 29.7KHUPRVWDWVRUVHQVRUFRQWUROVDUHWREH´$))DQGORFDWHGWRFRPSO\ZLWK$'$ accessibility requirements. All disconnect switches serving mechanical equipment shall be installed by E. Proper service clearances shall be maintained. 31.Equipment and installation techniques and methods to be Indiana Energy Code compliant to include the following ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1 requirements. a.HVAC equipment must be compliant with Tables 6.8.1A, and 6.8.1B. b.Refrigerant lines must be insulated with minimum ò´ thick cellular foam insulation in accordance with Table 6.8.3. c.Insulation exposed to weather must be suitable for outdoor service (e.g. protected by aluminum, sheet metal, painted canvas, or plastic cover) and must be water retardant and provide shielding from solar radiation, U.V. protected. d.All HVAC systems with field installed ductwork must be air balanced in accordance with industry accepted procedures. e.HVAC controls must be set to prevent simultaneous heating and cooling of the same space. f.Any exhaust fan that does not have continuous service must be equipped with motorized or gravity damper that will automatically close when fan is not running. g.Transverse joints on all ductwork must be sealed with a UL181 approved mastic or sealing system. h.Ductwork and plenums must be insulated in accordance with Tables 6.8.2A & 6.8.2B. 32.Provide fire dampers, radiation dampers, or smoke dampers as required by code and as noted. 33.Fire dampers to be constructed of heavy gauge galvanized steel frames, 301 stainless steel FORVXUHVSULQJV IRUKRUL]RQWDOPRXQWRQO\ ƒ)IXVLEOHOLQNDQGJDOYDQL]HGVWHHOVOHHYH that is two gauges thicker than service ductwork. 34.Fire dampers to be UL listed and labeled and must be manufactured in conformance with NFPA Standard 90A. 35.The smallest, economically feasible, A/C equipment provides a nominal cooling capacity of 18,000 Btuh. In some cases, this may exceed the load requirement of the space, compromising the dehumidification performance of the system. Alternative means may have to be provided by owner / renter to control humidity under certain conditions.
