Chris Ellison, Please see attached revised drawing sheets and Autoturn exhibit per the comments we received from you on 8/24. Provided in red are responses to your comments: Section 503.2.4 Turing radius: The turning radius of a fire apparatus access road shall be determined after consultation with the servicing fire department and shall be at least equal to the minimum required radius for the fire apparatus. Such roads shall be designed and constructed to permit turning of the longest piece of fire apparatus available to the servicing fire department. Provide an emergency vehicle access plan to confirm that Carmel Fire Dept. Fire apparatus can obtain access too and exit from this proposed development. See the attached PDF file. We made minor adjustments to the radius at the entrances and also to two of the interior parking islands to accommodate the Carmel Fire Truck. See attached Autoturn exhibit. Section 507.5.4 Obstruction: Unobstructed access to fire hydrants shall be maintained at all times. The Fire Department shall not be deterred or hindered from gaining immediate access to fire protection equipment or fire hydrants. A parking space is currently located in front of the fire hydrant shown on the plans and does not comply with section 507.5.4 of the Indiana Fire Code. The Fire hydrant has been moved to the northeast so that it is approximately 10ft offset of the back of curb along the entrance drive and 20ft offset from the first parking space. There are no obstructions in between the fire truck and the entrance drive. See attached revised Utility sheet L201.
