Explanation:
Whereas, the Standard Specifications for this contract provides for such work to be performed, the following change is recommended.
General or Standard Change Order Explanation
This change order adds 15 days to the contract for delays incurred by the contractor due to inclement weather. The unusually rainy spring and
early summer delayed construction activities over and above that stipulated in Standard Specification 101.02. The continuous pattern of rains in
April through June saturated the soils along the proposed pathway alignment thus delaying installation of the subgrade treatment. Attached is
rain data for the months of April, May and June. Days where conditions were to wet to effectively work are highlighted in yellow. In total there
were 18 days in April, 10 days in May and 18 days in June. Standard Specification 101. 02 stipulates 8 days for May and 5 days for June. This
would equate to 2 days for May and 13 days for June equating to a total of 15 days that are over and above the normal inclement days provided
in the Standard Specifications..
Change Order Explanation for Specific Line Item
It is the intent of the parties that this change order is full and complete compensation for the work describe above.
Notification and consent to this change order is hereby acknowledged.
