HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-2280-16 Amends CT 2016 Salary OrdinanceSPONSORS: Ron Carter ORDINANCE D-2280-16 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING ORDINANCE D-2230-15 Synopsis: Amends 2016 salary ordinance for the Clerk -Treasurer's office. WHEREAS, on October 19, 2015, the Common Council adopted Ordinance D-2230-15 fixing salaries of appointed officers and employees of the Clerk -Treasurer for the year 2016; WHEREAS, under Carmel City Code Section 2-81 the compensation of City employees shall be established by ordinance of the Common Council as passed from time to time; WHEREAS, the Clerk -Treasurer believes it will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of her office to change the job classifications and 2016 compensation of certain officers and employees; WHEREAS, the desired changes in compensation may be made without increasing 2016 _. _ appropriations for the Department; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana: Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are incorporated herein by this reference Section 2. The maximum salary rates and pay schedule of appointed officers and employees of the City of Carmel Clerk -Treasurer, beginning December 19, 2015, and continuing until December 16, 2016, are amended as follows: CLASSIFICATION CHIEF DEPUTY OF OPERATIONS DEPUTY DIRECTOR FINANCE DEPUTY OF COUNCIL BUSINESS PAYROLL MANAGER PAYROLL AND CLAIMS ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ANALYST ADMININISTRATIVE ASSISTANT PART-TIME/TEMPORARY UP TO A MAXIMUM BI -WEEKLY SALARY $4,231 $2,713 $2,196 $2,196 $2,019 $2019 $2,019 UP TO $22.00 PER HOUR Section 3. All full-time employees of the Clerk -Treasurer's Office shall receive $220.00 per year longevity pay for the first ten years of service and $280.00 per year for years eleven through twenty-five, in addition to all other forms of compensation. Longevity pay terms and conditions shall conform to the City's current longevity ordinance as adopted by the Carmel Common Council. 1 Section 4. Each employee of the Clerk -Treasurer's office, who is required to work on a declared holiday, whether on a scheduled or unscheduled basis, shall receive thirteen dollars ($13.00) per hour premium pay for each hour actually worked on the holiday.
