PART 1- GENERAL
RELATED DOCUMENTS
Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and other
Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
SUMMARY
This Section includes general procedural requirements governing execution of the Work including, but not limited to,
the following:
General installation of products.
Protection of installed construction.
Correction of the Work.

EXECUTION
EXAMINATION
Existing Utilities: The existence
and location of underground and other utilities and construction indicated as existing are not guaranteed. Before beginning site work, investigate and verify the existence and location
of underground utilities and other construction affecting the Work.
Acceptance of Conditions: Examine substrates, areas, and conditions, with Installer or Applicator present where indicated,
for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance. Record observations.
PREPARATION
Existing Utility Information: Furnish information
to the respective utility companies for the coordination that is necessary to adjust, move, or relocate existing utility structures, utility poles, lines, services, or other utility
appurtenances located in or affected by construction. Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction. Contractor shall be responsible for the cost of any utility relocates, unless
specifically shown or agreed to with the Owner, in writing.
Field Measurements: Take field measurements as required to fit the Work properly.
Review of Contract Documents and Field Conditions: Immediately on discovery of the need for clarification of the Contract Documents, submit a request for information (RFI) to Architect.
FIELD ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION LAYOUT
Refer to Specification Section 01 71 23 “Construction Layout” for additional information.
INSTALLATION
General: Locate the Work and components
of the Work accurately, in correct alignment and elevation, as indicated.
Conduct construction operations so no part of the Work is subjected to damaging operations or loading in excess
of that expected during normal conditions of occupancy.
Tools and Equipment: Do not use tools or equipment that produce harmful noise levels.
Templates: Obtain and distribute to the
parties involved templates for work specified to be factory prepared and field installed.
Anchors and Fasteners: Provide anchors and fasteners as required to anchor each component securely
in place, accurately located and aligned with other portions of the Work.
PROTECTION OF INSTALLED CONSTRUCTION
Provide final protection and maintain conditions that ensure installed
Work is without damage or deterioration at time of Substantial Completion.
CORRECTION OF THE WORK
Repair or remove and replace defective construction. Restore damaged substrates and
finishes. Comply with requirements in Division 1 Section "Cutting and Patching."
Restore permanent facilities used during construction to their specified condition.
PROGRESS CLEANING
General:
Clean Project site and work areas daily, including common areas. Coordinate progress cleaning for joint-use areas where more than one installer has worked.
