Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. Section includes urethane manufactured trim products: 1. Louvers. 1.3 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS A. Pre-installation Conference: Conduct conference at Project site. 1.4 ACTION SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For each type of product. 1. Include construction details, material descriptions, dimensions of individual components and profiles, and finishes for polyurethane fabrications. B. Shop Drawings: 1. Include plans, elevations, sections, and mounting and attachment details. 2. Detail fabrication and assembly of louvers. C. Samples for Initial Selection: For each type of unit and each type of exposed finish including factory-applied finishes. Sample shall be 6 inches x 6 inches. D. Samples for Verification: For each type of unit and each type of exposed finish. E. Product Schedule: For. Use same designations indicated on Drawings. 1.5 INFORMATIONAL SUBMITTALS A. Qualification Data: For manufacturer or fabricator. B. Material Certificates: For each type of material or product, from manufacturer or fabricator. C. Material Test Reports: For each material or product. D. Sample Warranty: For manufacturer's and any special warranty. PEDCOR SQUARE; BUILDING 5 06 66 00 - PEDCOR SQUARE Date 12.18.15 POLYURETHANE FABRICATIONS PEDCOR SQUARE; BUILDING 5 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Manufacturer shall have not less than 10 years successful experience in producing the type of prefabricated components required for project applications equivalent to the requirements for this project. B. Fabricator Qualifications: Shop that employs skilled workers who custom fabricate products similar to those required for this project and whose products have a record of successful in- service performance. C. Installer Qualifications: An experienced firm or individual who has specialized in installing fabrications similar in material, design and extent to that indicated for this project, whose work has a record of successful in-service performance. 1. Refer to Specification Section 01 50 00 “Quality Requirements.” 1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Deliver all materials in original, unopened packages with manufacturer’s labels intact and clearly identifying products. B. Store fabrication pieces and installation materials inside and under cover; keep dry and protected from the weather, direct sunlight, surface contamination, aging, corrosion, damaging temperatures, construction traffic and other causes. 1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Weather Limitations: Proceed with installation only whe existing and forecasted weather conditions permit work to be performed according to manufacturer’s written instructions and warranty requirements. B. Field Measurements: Where polyurethane fabrications are indicated to fit to other construction, verify dimensions of other construction by field measurements before fabrication and indicate measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delaying the Work. 1. Locate concealed framing, blocking and reinforcements that support fabrications by field measurements before being enclosed and indicate measurements on Shop Drawings. 1.9 WARRANTY A. Manufacturer's Warranty: Manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of polyurethane fabrication that fail(s) in materials or workmanship within specified warranty period. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 MANUFACTURERS PEDCOR SQUARE; BUILDING 5 06 66 00 - PEDCOR SQUARE Date 12.18.15 POLYURETHANE FABRICATIONS PEDCOR SQUARE; BUILDING 5 A. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by the following: 1. Fypon, LLC, 1750 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, Ohio 43537, ph.: 800.446.3040. 2.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS A. Thermal Movements: Allow for thermal movements from ambient and surface temperature changes. 1. Temperature Change: 120 deg F, ambient; 180 deg F, material surfaces. B. Surface-Burning Characteristics: Comply with ASTM E 84; testing by a qualified testing agency. Identify products with appropriate markings of applicable testing agency. 1. Flame-Spread Index: 25 or less. 2. Smoke-Developed Index: 50 or less. C. Fire-Resistance Ratings: Comply with ASTM E 119; testing by a qualified testing agency. Identify products with appropriate markings of applicable testing agency. 1. Indicate design designations from UL's "Fire Resistance Directory" or from the listings of another qualified testing agency. 2. Combustion Characteristics: ASTM E 136. D. Capacities and Characteristics: 1. Finish surfaces shall be free from cracks, pits, chips, voids, depressions, bumps, ridges waves, scratches, discoloration or other defacements. 2.3 PRODUCTS A. Louvers 2.4 MATERIALS A. Manufactured polyurethane trim with protective barrier coat primer resistant to UV degradation, providing interim UV protection of products and is suitable for field application of 100 per cent acrylic latex paint. B. Color: As selected by Architect from full range of industry colors and color densities. 2.5 ACCESSORIES A. Sealant: Use a compatible urethane based adhesive. B. Fasteners: Use corrosive resistant fasteners. C. Filler: Use a compatible filler putty. 2.6 FABRICATION PEDCOR SQUARE; BUILDING 5 06 66 00 - PEDCOR SQUARE Date 12.18.15 POLYURETHANE FABRICATIONS PEDCOR SQUARE; BUILDING 5 A. Fabricate to dimensions, profiles and details indicated. B. Complete fabrication, including assembly, finishing and hardware application, to maximum extent possible before shipping to Project site. Disassemble components only as necessary for shipment and installation. Where necessary for fitting at site, provide ample allowance for scribing, trimming and fitting. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Examine substrates and conditions, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of the Work. 1. Examine materials before installation. Material finish surfaces shall be free from cracks, pits, chips, voids, depressions, bumps, ridges waves, scratches, discoloration or other defects. Edges must be square and top and bottom surfaces shall be flat with no convex or concave deviation. B. Examine surfaces for suitable conditions where products will be installed. C. Prepare written report, endorsed by Installer, listing conditions detrimental to performance. D. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. 3.2 PREPARATION A. Protect surrounding and adjacent work as required preventing damage to preceding work during execution of this work. B. Prepare written report, endorsed by Installer, listing conditions detrimental to performance. 3.3 INSTALLATION A. Install per manufacturer’s written recommendations. B. All joints and seams between adjacent components to be smooth, hairline seams. C. Reject all components with imperfections, damages or other irregularities. D. Coordinate placement of fabrications to avoid conflict with other work. 3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A. After installation, check all work for flaws and defects. B. Repair all defective work.
