SECTION 07 11 16 – CEMENTITIOUS AND REACTIVE WATERPROOFING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS
A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary
Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
1.2 SUMMARY
A. This Section includes the following:
1. Exposed surfaces of cast-in-place concrete walls.
1.3 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For each type of product indicated.
B. Material Certificates: For each product, signed by manufacturers.
1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Source Limitations: Obtain primary damp-proofing materials and primers through one source
from a single manufacturer. Provide secondary materials recommended by manufacturer of
primary materials.
B. Qualifications:
1. Manufacturer: Company with minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing of
specified products and systems.
2. Applicator: Company with a minimum of 5 years experience in successful application of
the specified products and systems on projects of similar size and scope, and is
acceptable to the manufacturer.
C. Field Sample: Approval of field sample required by Architect before Contractor may proceed with the
complete application.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 CEMENTITIOUS AND REACTIVE WATER-PROOFING
A. Manufacturers: Provide products by the following:
1. Degussa Building Systems.
B. Products:
1. Standard Coating: Thoroseal Waterproof Cement Based Coating.

a. Color: To be selected by Architect.
2. Plaster Mix: Thoroseal Plaster Mix.
3. Waterstop: Thoroseal Waterplug.
2.2 MIXING
A. Mix material per manufacturer instructions allowing material to rest 15 minutes before remixing
and application.
B. Color: To be selected by Architect.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 APPLICATION, GENERAL
A. Comply with manufacturer's written recommendations unless more stringent requirements are
indicated or required by Project conditions to ensure satisfactory performance.
3.2 BELOW GRADE APPLICATION
A. Follow manufacturer’s written instructions.
