SECTION 07 65 26 – SELF-ADHERED SHEET FLASHING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS
A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary
Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
1.2 SUMMARY
A. Section Includes:
1. Manufactured Products:
a. Self-adhering through wall sheet flashing and accessory products.
1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A. General: Self-adhered sheet flashing assemblies as indicated shall withstand structural
movement, thermally induced movement, and exposure to weather without failure due to
defective manufacture, fabrication, installation, or other defects in construction. Completed
flashing and trim shall not leak, or loosen, and shall remain watertight.
1.4 SUBMITTALS
A. General: Submit in accordance with Section 01 33 00 “Submittal Procedure.”
B. Product Data: For each type of product indicated.
C. Shop Drawings: Show fabrication and installation layouts of self-adhering sheet flashing and
trim, including plans, elevations, and keyed details.
D. Samples for Initial Selection: For each type of self-adhering sheet flash
E. Qualification Data: For qualified fabricator.
F. Maintenance Data: For self-adhering sheet flashing, and accessories to include in maintenance
manuals.
G. Warranty: Sample of special warranty.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Fabricator Qualifications: A firm experienced in producing products similar to those indicated
for this Project and with a record of successful in-service performance, as well as sufficient
production capacity to produce required units.

B. Single-source Responsibility: Obtain product and accessories from single manufacturer.
C. Products and accessories shall comply with all state and local regulations controlling the use of
volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
1.6 WARRANITES
A. Provide manufacturer’s standard form in which he agrees to provide a five year material
warranty.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURER
A. Manufacturer:

2.2 PRODUCTS
A. Product: Self-adhering waterproof membrane sheet consisting of 32 mils of rubberized asphalt
bonded to an 8 mil cross-laminated film meeting the following requirements:
1. Tensile Strength ASTM D 412: 800 psi.
2. Puncture Resistance ASTM E 154: 80 lb.
3. Peel Adhesion ASTM D 903: Wet: 5 lb.
4. Low Temperature
Flexibility ASTM D 146: Unaffected @ -25 deg. F
B. Subject to compliance with requirements, available products that may be incorporated into the
work include, but are not limited to:
1. Carlisle Coating and Waterproofing; CCW-705 TWF
2. Clark/Hammerbeam Corp.; AquaFlow 500.
3. W.R. Grace & Co.; Grace Ice and Water Shield.
2.3 ACCESSORY PRODUCTS
A. Fill Compound: Manufacturer’s recommended where required for substrate preparation.
B. Primer: Manufacturer’s recommended product.
C. Contact Adhesive: Manufacturer’s recommended product where required.
D. Mastic: Manufacturer’s recommended solvent based rubberized asphalt mastic.
E. Termination Bars: Where required buy Manufacturer.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 SURFACE PREPARATION
A. Fill joints and cracks greater than ¼ inch in width with manufacturer recommended sealant.
B. Fill inside corners and angle changes with minimum ½ inch tooled bead of manufacturer
recommended sealant.
3.2 INSTALLATION, GENERAL
A. Priming: Clean surfaces to remove residual dust before priming. Apply manufacturer’s primer in
recommended manner. Allow to dry per manufacturer’s recommendation.
B. Application: Follow manufacturer’s recommended application.
C. Terminations: See manufacturer’s details for proper terminations.
