No. 19358 STATE OF= % 0 .......... I, David J. Stoeppelwerth, certify that this drainage report and supporting calculations are in compliance with the requirements set forth by the City of Carmel Engineering Department in the City of Carmel Stormwater Management Ordinance. •1 [willmold 11' EXISTING CONDITIONS BASIN MAP WOODSIDE AT WEST CLAY PRELIMINARY PPV 11, Inc. is proposing the development of a residential subdivision in Hamilton County to be known as Woodside at West Clay. The site is located on the north side of 136th Street, east of Towne Road. The site is more specifically located in a part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 21, Township 18 North, Range 3 East, Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana. 10.14 .yl 11MU "1-1113 The overall project is approximately 20 acres+. The site is currently made up of pasture, woods and a small wetland area within the woods. The overall site has an elevation range of 908 near the existing home at the north portion of the site to 900 near the southeast comer of the site. Very little offsite impacts this site. This site is located in the Williams Creek Shed. 12=-, 2 -Year (cfs) 10 -Year (cfs) 100 -Year cfs) Release Rates (Onsite): 6.838 14.021 32.512 Soil Types: Brookston silty clay loam (Br) — Type B soil Crosby silt loam (CrA) — Type C soil This PRELIMINARY Drainage Report reflects the final proposed conditions of Woodside at West Clay. There will be one (1) retention pond in the post -developed site. LAKE I will be located near the southeast comer of the site, adjacent to 136th Street. LAKE I will discharge south to an existing 21" RCP (located at the southeast comer of the site), constructed with Lakeside Park Section 1. Detention Volume Required: 256452 cubic feet Detention Volume Provided: 3581228 cubic feet Lake #1 critical elevations: 2yr — 898.767 1 Oyr — 899.421 1 00yr — 900.679 Lake #I as well as the outlet pipe has been sized to retain the 100 year flow. All internal pipes within the subdivision will be sized to handle the 10 year flow. Emergency flood routing will be provided for the 100 year flow to drain overland via a specifically designed route. The downstream impact will be reduced flows due to the proposed detention pond and required post -developed release rates. Pipes will be sized to handle the full width right-of-way of 136th Street per the City of Carmel 20 -year Thoroughfare Plan. Drainage Criteria: Per the Hamilton County Stormwater Ordinance, the drainage discharge rate criteria are as follows: Post -developed release rates from the site shall be no greater than 0.1 cfs/acre of the development for the 0-10 year return interval storms, and 0.30 cfs/acre of the development for the 11-100 year return interval storms. Post -Developed Discharge tote Little Eagle Creek Drain (20.337 + 0.68 acres (136th r/w)) Allowable vs. Proposed Discharge Rates. - 2 -Year 10 -Year (cfs) 100 -Year ,cfs) Allowable Release Rates (Onsite): 2.102 6.305 Proposed Release Rates (Onsite): 1.146 1.655 6.229 The post -developed site was analyzed using a storage -routing computer program. All pond routing and analysis was completed using Advanced ICPR. This program routes and analyzes all components in a storm system on a user -defined time interval. The discharge rate criteria are met per the Hamilton County Stormwater Ordinance. Slopes are 0 to 2 percent. The native vegetation is water tolerant grasses and hardwoods. The surface layer is silty clay loam and has moderate or high organic matter content (2.0 to 5.0 percent). Permeability is moderately slow (0.2 to 0.6 in/hr) in the most restrictive layer above 60 inches. Available water capacity is high (10.0 inches in the upper 60 inches). The pH of the surface layer in non -limed areas is 6.1 to 7.3. This soil is hydric. Wetness is a management concern for crop production. This soil responds well to the drainage. Map Unit: CrA - Crosby silt loam, 0 to 2 percent slopes CrA--Crosby silt loam, 0 to 2 percent slopes This is a somewhat poorly drained soil and has a seasonal high watertable at 0.5 to 2.0 ft. and is on rises on uplands. Slopes are 0 to 2 percent. The native vegetation is hardwoods. The surface layer is silt loam and has moderately low or moderate organic matter content (1.0 to 3.0 percent). Permeability is very slow (< 0.06 in/hr) in the most restrictive layer above 60 inches. Available water capacity is moderate (6.2 inches in the upper 60 inches). The pH of the surface layer in non -limed areas is 5.1 to 6.0.
