If you have any missing pieces, please make sure that you have a complete application packet prior to the written examination. The entrance process is a three part progressive series of examinations and interviews. Please read this letter carefully as it contains information specific to the entrance testing process. Computerized Examination—Testing fee of$90 to cover the examination is due prior to testing. Seats are limited so please register early! You may submit your testing fee any time prior to the written exam. Credit cards, money order or cashier check are accepted forms of payment. NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE TESTING FEE. A laptop computer is necessary for this portion of the testing process. We prefer that [PADS are not used unless you have no other option. Traditionally,we have had issues with linking to the electronic test site.THE FACULTY DOES NOT HAVE LAPTOPS AVAILABLE IF YOUR MACHINE DOES NOT OPERATE OR YOU FAIL TO BRING ONE. If you do not come prepared with a laptop computer you will be eliminated from the application process. You will be taking the TEAS V(Test of Essential Academic Skills) examination which is an examination utilized by allied health programs to assess program readiness.The TEAS V is multiple-choice assessment measuring basic academic preparedness in reading, math, science, English and language usage.The objectives assessed in the test are those that allied health educators deem most relevant for measuring entry level skills and abilities of program applicants.The test not only predicts the performance of incoming candidates, it also helps educators gain advance knowledge of the strengths and areas needing development of those that are accepted into the program. It is difficult to study for this examination however you can purchase various preparation materials from www.atitesting.com . It is not necessary to purchase any study materials. 11 Page Personal Interview You will be able to sign up for an interview upon completion of the written examination. Please bring your calendar to the computerized testing so that you may sign up for an interview. Once we have had an opportunity to score your examination and interpret the results,you will receive an email either confirming your interview time with location details or details of your written testing results. The personal interview is an opportunity for the faculty,graduates,current students and preceptors to get to know you and ask some pertinent questions that will help determine your continuance in the acceptance process. Interviews are scheduled for the following: February 15th 8220 Naab Road,Suite 200 February 16th 8220 Naab Road,Suite 200 March 151 Alternate Day; 8220 Naab Road, Suite 200 Practical Examination Due to the complexity of setting up the practical examination, only one day is designated for the practical examination. The practical examination will be held on: March 15th Location TBA You will sign up for an appointment when you come for your written examination. Testing will begin at 9am and appointments will be scheduled every 15 minutes until all candidates have been tested. The location will be announced via email to those candidates who successfully complete the personal interview. You will be participating in a single scenario, but multiple scenarios will be held during the day. We will assess you on your ability to manage patient care, communications, and scene components. YOU WILL NOT BE ASSESSED ON YOUR ABILITY TO PERFORM THE STATE OF INDIANA PATIENT ASSESSMENT SKILLS SHEET. While these are all components necessary to successful patient care and management, we are more interested in your ability to incorporate all components of the job rather than performing a static check-off sheet. You will leave immediately after completing the examination. The faculty will analyze your results on the practical examinations and determination of candidates that will receive enrollment invitations. Acceptance notifications will be made prior to May 1, 2017 at which time you will begin your on- boarding process that must be completed before the start of the program on August 3, 2017. Upon notification of your acceptance,you will need to submit a deposit of$800 to hold your spot in the course. This deposit will be applied your first semester tuition and is non-refundable. We have received more applications than we have available positions in the program. As such,the process is a competitive one. If you are not accepted into the program this year, we urge you to reapply for the 2018 program. Applications will be available immediately following this entrance process.
