order by the Chairman, Warren Saunders, at
October 22, 1984

the City Meeting Hall. The meeting opened with the •pledgeof allegiance.
Roll was called and members present were: Warren Saunders, Jeanne Book,
Bill McFadden, Ila Badger and Richard Dowell.

Staff members present were : Chuck Kiphart, Kurt eWoernerSentSteve Andrews
and Rosalind McCart.
Dr. Dowell called attention to agenda item lh, Docket No. S 31-84, of the
September 24, 1984 minutes, relating that the dumpster location as called
for in the minutes has been moved.
Mr. Kiphart explained.
The motion as stated in the September 24, 1984 minutes calls for the
dumpster to be relocated to the northeast corner.
Mr. Kiphart said that that does clarify the matter for him.
Mr. McFadden moved approval of the September 24, 1984 minutes as submitted.
Seconded by Dr. Dowell.
Motion carried.
I. Old Business
li. Board to consider Docket No. V 44-80, Renewal Variance for Dental
Lab in residence located at 9614 N. College Ave. in Clay Twp.
Filed by Christel Horney.
Ms. Homey made the presentation for variance renewal .
Mrs. Badger moved that V 44-80 be granted to Christel Homey for a period
of one (1) year.
Seconded by Mrs. Book.
Finding of fact was completed by members.
The motion carried unanimously.
2i. Board to consider Docket No. BA 34-80, Renewal Variance from
requirement for Carmel Wesleyan Church located at 31 8th St. N.E. in
Carmel, Indiana.
Filed by Mark Haines.
Rev. Haines, church pastor, made the presentation stating that the re-
quired 50 parking spaces are still not needed. Their average attendance is
30 to 40 people.
No additions have been made to the church.
Mrs. Badger moved that BA 34-80 , Variance from parking requirement, be
granted for a period of one (1) year.
Seconded by Mrs. Book.
Finding of fact was completed by members.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. McFadden suggested that the starting time for public hearings be
moved from 7 :30 P.M. to 7 :00 P.M. rather than sit and wait.
Following discussion, Mr. McFadden moved to advertise the public hearings
for 7:00 P.M. starting with the November 1984 meeting.
Seconded by Dr. Dowell.
Motion carried unanimously.
H. Public Hearings
lh. 7 :30 P.M. Public Hearing on Docket No. V 45-84, Sign Variance Appli-
cation for St. Vincent Hospital, located at 13500 N. Meridian St. in
B-6 and U.S. 31 Overlay Zones. Petitioner requests variance from
provision of Carmel Sign Ordinance dealing with number and size of
allowed signs.
Filed by Jim Nelson for St. Vincent Carmel Hospital .
The public hearing opened at 7: 30 with Mr. Nelson makin the
g presentation.
