NERAL NOTES:
IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY ALL EXISTING UTILITIES AND CONDITIONS
PERTAINING TO HIS PHASE OF THE WORK. IT SHALL ALSO BE THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT
THE OWNERS OF THE VARIOUS UTILITIES BEFORE WORK IS STARTED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY IN WRITING
THE OWNERS AND/OR THE ENGINEER OF ANY CHANGES, ERRORS OR OMISSIONS FOUND ON THESE PLANS OR IN
THE FIELD BEFORE WORK IS STARTED OR RESUMED.
THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CITY OF CARMEL SHALL APPLY FOR ALL WORK AND MATERIAL.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALL STATE, CITY AND COUNTY PERMITS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK WITH THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTION TO VERIFY DATE OF PLANS.
ALL CONTRACTORS SHALL VERIFY SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING.
6. ALL STORM SEWERS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED WITH REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE, CLASS III, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
7. CORRUGATED METAL PIPE SHALL CONFORM TO AASHO DESIGNATION M-36, 16 GAUGE, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
8. ALL SLOPING TRANSITIONS SHALL BE STARTED OR TERMINATED A MINIMUM DISTANCE OF TWO (2) FEET AWAY
FROM ALL WALKS AND PAVEMENT.
9. NO TRAFFIC SHALL BE ALLOWED ON PREPARED SUBGRADE PRIOR TO PAVING.
10. ALL PIPE OR DRAINAGE STRUCTURES IN TRENCHES UNDER PAVED SURFACES AND TO WITHIN TEN (10) FEET OF
PAVEMENT SHALL BE BACKFILLED WITH GRANULAR MATERIAL AND COMPACTED BY APPROVED METHODS. PIPE
SHALL BE BEDDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH DETAILS SHOWN.
11. A TEMPORARY SEEDING MIXTURE IN THE AREAS WHERE STRIPPING OF FILLS HAVE BEEN GRADED SHALL BE
SEEDED FOR SILT AND EROSION PROTECTION, SEE DETAIL SHEET FOR SEEDING SPECIFICATIONS.
12- NO ROOF DRAINS, FOOTING DRAINS AND/OR SURFACE WATER DRAINS MAY BE CONNECTED TO THE SANITARY
SEWER SYSTEM, INCLUDING TEMPORARY CONNECTIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION.
13. ANY EXCESS TOPSOIL OR FILL DIRT ON THE SITE SHALL BE REMOVED AT THE DIRECTION OF THE OWNER.
14. THE SITE WAS PREVIOUSLY USED FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES AND FIELD TILE NOT VISIBLE ON THE SURFACE
MAY EXIST. ANY FIELD TILE ENCOUNTERED SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH POSITIVE DRAINAGE.
15. HOUSE PAD SIZES DEPICTED ON THE DEVELOPMENT PLAN ARE APPROXIMATE ONLY. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY
ACTUAL FINISH PAD DIMENSIONS WITH THE DEVELOPER.
16. SANITARY SEWER LATERALS SHALL TERMINATE A MAXIMUM OF 15' FROM THE R/W LINE AND IN NO CASE SHALL
THEY EXTEND CLOSER THAN 5' TO THE BUILDING LINE. GRANULAR BACKFILL, COMPACTED BY APPROVED METHODS,
SHALL BE REQUIRED IN LATERAL TRENCHES OR EXCAVATION WITHIN 5' FROM THE BUILDING LINE.
