HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC-12-04-17-07 Interlocal with Hamilton CountySponsor: Councilor Rider RESOLUTION CC 12-04-17-07 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, APPROVING INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARMEL AND HAMILTON COUNTY Synopsis: Approves an interlocal agreement between Carmel and Hamilton County in which the County agrees to pay Carmel $2 million that is to be used for the construction of improvements at the intersection of Keystone Parkway and 96th Street. WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana, by and through its Board of Public Works and Safety, and Hamilton County, Indiana, have agreed to enter into an interlocal agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A, the same being incorporated- herein by reference (the "Agreement"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Agreement, Hamilton County agrees to contribute $2 million to Carmel to help defray construction costs associated with the improvements being made at the intersection of Keystone Avenue and 96`h Street; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, pursuant to Indiana Code §§ 8-17-1-45(b), 36-1-7-2 and 36-1-7-4(a), now wishes to approve the Agreement, finding the same to be in the public interest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. The Agreement should be and the same is hereby approved pursuant to and in accordance with the terms of this Resolution. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
