HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-2391-17 Incorporates the Unified Development OrdinanceSPONSOR(s): Councilor Kimball ORDINANCE D-2391-17 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA. AMENDING CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 10-1 AND CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE 2, SECTION 10-200 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE Synopsis: Ordinance amends the Carmel City Code to incorporate the Unified Development Ordinance. WHEREAS, pursuant to Indiana Code § 36-7-4-610 and City of Carmel Ordinance D-1600-02, the Carmel Zoning and Subdivision Control Ordinances are incorporated by reference into the Carmel City Code; and WHEREAS, the Carmel Common Council recently adopted Ordinance #Z-625-17, the Unified Development Ordinance, which replaces both the Zoning Ordinance and the Subdivision Control Ordinance; WHEREAS, in order to incorporate the Unified Development Ordinance into the Carmel City Code, Chapter 10 of the Code must be amended. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AND ORDAINED, by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. Section 10-1 of the Carmel City Code is hereby amended and shall read as follows: "§ 10-1 Unified Development Ordinance Incorporated by Reference. The Unified Development Ordinance, and all Ordinances amendatory thereto, are hereby incorporated herein by reference, with copies of the same being maintained in the Office of the Clerk -Treasurer and the Department of Community Services for public inspection during regular business hours." Section 3.
