GENERAL NOTES - DOOR & HARDWARE
1 Door stops to be wall mounted baseboard stops unless otherwise noted in door schedule remarks.
Provide blocking inside wall for all wall mounted stops. Install wall stop just above base.
2 All new and existing doors to receive building standard lever handles.
3 All existing doors to be repaired for any damaged, scratched or worn areas.
4 All office doors to receive (1) coat hook Mockett CH23 (equipment code TA20) or equal. All coat hooks
to be mounted on center of door at 5'-0" a.f.f.
5 Egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key, special knowledge
or effort. In group A occupancies having an occupant load less than 300, and group B,M & S
occupancies, the main exterior door(s) are permitted to be equipped with key operated locking devices
or deadbolt from the egress side provided that the locking device is readily distinguishable as locked
and a readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating "This door
to remain unlocked when building is occupied". The sign shall be 1" high letters on a contrasting
background. Refer to 2015 International Building Code Section 1010.1.9.3,2.2 (Verify with local building
code requirements).
6 Hardware Specifications given communicate performace and design intent. Contractor shall coordinate
hardware submittal to comply with all building standard styles, finishes and specifications. Substitutions
may be allowed unless noted otherwise.
7 Contractor shall coordinate scope for all security devices, conduit, power and junction box requirements
with security vendor.
8 All access-controlled egress doors shall comply with IBC 2015 Section 1010.1.9 and .9. Door hardware
supplier shall verify compliance and recommend to Architect any modifications to the door hardware
group as required.
9 Handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operable parts on doors and gates shall comply with 1010.1.9.
(TAS 404.2.7). Operable parts of such hardware shall be 34 inches minimum and 48 inches maximum
above the finish floor or ground.
