1. Requirements for absorption system:
a. Trenches shall be constructed 3' wide maximum
b. A minimum 12' of washed gravel shall surround the distribution laterals, as shown.
c. Absorption field -A minimum of 800 LF. of distribution lateral.
d. 7.5' minimum spacing -center of lateral to center of lateral
2 Absorption field lateral specifications
a. Must be at least 4' In diameter & meet A.S.T.M. D-2729 or A.S.T. F810-83 specifications.
b. The pipe must have perforations with the equivalent total opening as a comparable the laid with
1/4 open Joints per foot of tile. with the following provisions:
I. Three rows of holes
11. 1/2' to, 1/4" diameter holes with
1/2M holes at 2-1/4« or closer spacing
5/8 holes at 3-1/2* or closer spacing
1/4- holes at 5" or closer spacing
III. Equal separation of rows around the circumference
c. The pipe must be delivered In straight (unrolled) lengths.
3. Gravity sewer must be P.V.C. SDR -35 and meet A.S.T.M.-D 3034 specifications for 4' pipe.
4. System as designed and shown is done with the intention of the system being Installed at minimum depths.
5. No clay fill material will be placed over absorption field. Natural ground line to remain as much as
possible.
6. Finish grading over- absorption field will be done to obtain positive surface drainage away from field. Any
finish grading done in area of absorption field will be done with light equipment.
7. No construction traffic to be allowed in area of absorption field.
8. All absorption field fingers to be placed at minimum depths to keep system in more permeable soils.
9. Septic tank specifications:
a. Reinforced concrete tanks
- Concrete :compressive strength > 4000 p.s.l. with wall thickness 2-1/2" or
- Concrete compressive strength > 4000 p.s.l. with wail thickness 4"
b. Tanks shall be certified by the State Board of Health & County Health Department.
C. Minimum septic tank capacity - 1250 gallons (not including volume of dosing tank)
d. All openings and Joints of the septic tank and dosing tank must be sealed watertight.
e. Tank shall be fitted with access riser (22' in dia. min.) and secured with gas tight cover.
10. Dosing System Specifications
a. Install a Simplex pump system meeting the pump requirements shown and capable of pumping
septic tank'.�effiuent. Pumps shall be Hyidromatic SP -33 series or equal.
(1) Pump capacity 35 gpm (min.)
WStatic head - 5 feet
Friction head - 5 feet
b. The dosing pump shall be mounted with lifting chem and break away flange.
C. The pumps shall be placed In a 1000 gallon dosing tank or equal that meets requirements under
Note 9.
d. An audio and visual high water alarm shall be installed in the basement.
e. Forcemain Inlet to distribution box shall be fitted with a 90' turn down elbow.
f. Forcemain shall be Schedule 40, 80 or 120 and meet ASTM D 1785 specifications.
