SUBMIT FINISH SAMPLE OF MILLWORK (STAINED OR PAINTED AS SPECIFIED) TO SCHOTT DESIGN FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO THE FINISHING PROCESS OF ALL MILLWORK. 10. REFERENCE INTERIOR ELEVATION & SECTIONS WHERE PROVIDED FOR ADDITIONAL FINISH INFORMATION. 11. ALL PAINTS AND ADHESIVES/SEALANTS SHALL HAVE LOW VOC CONTENT. 12. VISIT AREA OF WORK TO ASSURE EXTENT OF DEMOLITION. 6. REMOVE ALL CARPET, VINYL BASE, VCT, WALL FABRIC, AND ANY OTHER FINISHES AS REQUIRED FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION. REFER TO SECTION 300.21. 11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO COORDINATE WORK "BY OTHERS" WITH HIS/HER OWN ACTIVITIES AS NECESSARY TO EXECUTE THE OVERALL PROJECT SCOPE. 7. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE LANDLORD, DAILY WORKING HOURS, WEEKEND HOURS AND HOURS THAT MAY BE WORKED PRIOR TO AND DURING HOLIDAYS. LANDLORD RESERVES THE RIGHT TO RESTRICT CONSTRUCTION TO NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS WHEN THAT CONSTRUCTION IS DEEMED TO INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATIONS OF ADJACENT TENANTS. 8. FOR THOSE ITEMS TO BE ORDERED REQUIRING LEAD TIME, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE PROJECT SCHEDULE ACCORDINGLY AND COMMUNICATE TO THE OWNER, TENANT, AND SCHOTT DESIGN WHEN DECISIONS MUST BE RENDERED IN ORDER FOR THE CONTRACTOR TO MEET THE PROJECT SCHEDULE. THE OWNER, TENANT, OR DESIGNER/ARCHITECT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS RESULTING FROM THE CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE MATERIAL LEAD TIMES. 9. SUBSTITUTIONS FOR SPECIFICALLY NAMED PRODUCTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE DESIGNER. SUBMIT REQUESTS FOR SUBSTITUTIONS WITH APPROPRIATE SUPPORT INFORMATION TO THE DESIGNER. ALLOW REASONABLY SUFFICIENT TIME FOR THE DESIGNER TO REVIEW THE REQUEST AND RENDER A DECISION. 10. SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., SHALL NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER, OR BE IN CHARGE OF, AND SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, SCHEDULES, SEQUENCES, OR SAFETY. THE CONTRACTORS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR WORKERS AND THE PUBLIC AT ALL TIMES. 11. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ESTABLISH WITH THE LANDLORD CLEANUP PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES TO BE FOLLOWED ON A DAILY BASIS IN ORDER TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IN A SAFE AND CLEAN ENVIRONMENT. 12. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE LANDLORD, AN AREA FOR STAGING OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, DUMPSTER AND PARKING CONSTRUCTION AND DELIVERY VEHICLES. THE USE OF EXISTING REST ROOM FACILITIES SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE LANDLORD. ONLY THOSE DESIGNATED AREAS SHALL BE USED BY CONSTRUCTION CREWS. 13. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL USE DUST PARTITIONS TO MINIMIZE DISTURBANCES OF DAILY TENANT OPERATIONS DURING DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION WORK. DUST PARTITIONS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF 2X4 WOOD STUDS @ 24"O.C., INSULATION AND 6 MIL VAPOR BARRIER ON EACH SIDE. 14. CONTACT THE DESIGNER IMMEDIATELY IF, IN THE FIELD, CONFLICTS ARE DISCOVERED BETWEEN COMPONENTS OF DIFFERENT SYSTEMS THAT PREVENT THE INSTALLATION OF THOSE COMPONENTS AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. (I.E. WHERE EXISTING MECHANICAL DUCTWORK MAY PREVENT THE INSTALLATION OF LIGHTING FIXTURES AS INDICATED ON THE CEILING PLAN). 15. SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IDENTIFICATION, DISCOVERY, PRESENCE, HANDLING, REMOVAL, DISPOSAL OF, OR EXPOSURE TO ANY PERSONS, THAT OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN ANY FORM ON THE PROJECT SITE. 16. PROVIDE FIRE-TREATED WOOD BLOCKING IN WALLS FOR ALL WALL HUNG ITEMS INCLUDING MILLWORK, WALL STOPS, CABINETRY, ETC. 17. SHOP DRAWINGS OR CATALOG CUTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO SCHOTT DESIGN, INC. FOR APPROVAL ON ALL MATERIALS OR ITEMS WHERE THE CONTRACTOR CHOOSES TO DEVIATE FROM WHAT IS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, OR IF THE DRAWINGS DO NOT INDICATE A SPECIFIC MANUFACTURER OR MODEL NUMBER. 18. EXPEDITE PREPARATION AND SUBMITTAL OF ALL SHOP DRAWINGS TO ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME FOR CHECKING, APPROVAL, ORDERING, FABRICATION, AND DELIVERY OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT. 19. ENSURE THAT ALL MATERIALS AND LABOR ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BEST QUALITY STANDARDS OF EACH RESPECTIVE TRADE WHETHER SPECIFIED OR NOT. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT ALL WORK IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES, AND STANDARDS FOR GENERAL, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION. 20. ALL DETAILS, MATERIALS, AND INSTALLATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO FIRST APPROVAL BY SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., AND FINAL APPROVAL BY THE OWNER. 21. REVIEW AND COORDINATE ALL NEW WORK AND EXISTING CONDITIONS WITH ALL OTHER TRADES.
