There is no change in the buildings use or zoning, building footprint. The building exits and exit corridors are to remain
the same with no alteration. There is currently no fire alarm or fire suppression system and none is being proposed. The
enclosure of the single work area into a private office involves 34 linear feet of new wall that is nine foot tall.
Electrical modifications are limited to relocation or replacement of existing branch circuits and light fixtures. There will
be no electric service upgrades or service modifications being proposed.
The scope of the project does not involve plumbing work.
There will be no modifications to the existing HVAC system or the associated duct work. The area where the open desk is
currently positioned that will be enclosed currently has a ducted supply diffuser and accommodations for return air.
We have applied for a building permit with the city of Carmel. The Carmel Building Department has informed us that we
need to reach out to your office, State Department of Homeland Security(IDHS), to obtain a State Design Release.
We believe that in accordance with the Indiana Administrative Code section 675 12‐6‐4‐b‐3A, 3D , 5A,5B and 5D that
this minor interior remodeling project is exempt form plan filing with the IDHS, Building Safety/Services, Plan Review
and respectfully request you consideration for a construction design release.
Should you have any questions please let me know.
