GENERAL NOTES
A. REFER TO DRAWING P000 FOR PLUMBING AND FIRE PROTECTION
SYMBOLS AND ABBREVIATIONS.
B. PROVIDE CEILING ACCESS PANELS TO SHUT-OFF VALVES, CONTROL VALVES,
DRAIN VALVES, ETC... LOCATED ABOVE NON ACCESSIBLE CEILINGS.
COORDINATE ALL ACCESS PANELS WITH THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS.
C. INSTALL ALL PIPING AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE.
D. ALL PIPING, INSULATION, JACKETS, COVERINGS, SEALERS, MASTICS AND
ADHESIVES ARE TO HAVE PLENUM RATING WITH A FLAME-SPREAD INDEX OF 25
OR LESS AND A SMOKE DEVELOPED INDEX OF 50 OR LESS AS REQUIRED BY
CODE.
E. COORDINATE ALL SANITARY PIPING SIZES, INVERT ELEVATIONS AND EXACT
LOCATIONS WHERE PIPING EXITS THE BUILDING WITH THE CIVIL DRAWINGS AND
SITE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK. FAILURE TO COORDINATE
THIS WORK AHEAD OF TIME WILL RESULT IN THE CONTRACTORS ACCEPTANCE
OF ALL COSTS RELATED TO WORK THAT MUST BE REWORKED.
F. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL DESIGN A COMPLETE SPRINKLER
SYSTEM ACCORDING TO THE CRITERIA OUTLINED ON THE DRAWINGS AND
NFPA13 AND NFPA 13R.
G. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE ALL DRAWINGS AND
APPLICATIONS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN APPROVAL OF THE STATE FIRE MARSHALL,
ALL AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION PRIOR TO THE START OF
CONSTRUCTION.
H. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT DRAWINGS WITH ALL
SPRINKLER HEAD LOCATIONS. ALL HEADS TO BE LAID OUT NEATLY WITHIN
CEILING SYSTEM AND BE COORDINATED WITH ALL BULKHEADS, CEILINGS,
CEILING CLOUD SYSTEMS AND STRUCTURE.
I. ALL PIPING, SIZES, ZONES, MAINS AND EQUIPMENT SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS
ARE FOR DESIGN INTENT ONLY. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR IS
RESPONSIBLE FOR PROPER COVERAGE AND CAPACITY OF THE SPRINKLER
SYSTEM.
J. NO SPRINKLER PIPING IS TO ROUTED THROUGH ANY TECHNOLOGY OR
ELECTRICAL ROOM. PROVIDE SIDEWALL SPRINKLER HEADS WITH GUARD.
K. CONTRACTOR IS TO COORDINATE THE LOCATIONS OF ALL CORRIDOR SHUTOFF
VALVES WITH EXACT LOCATION OF ACCESS PANELS AS LOCATED AND DEFINED
ON THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS.
