SECTION 04 80 00 – UNIT MASONRY
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Provide unit masonry construction:
1) Brick veneer on wood studs.
2) Brick veneer on steel studs (retail / leasing).
3) Brick veneer on CMU / Concrete stem wall
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit product data, samples, shop drawings, 4 foot by 4 foot mockup,
test reports.
PART 2 – PRODUCTS
A. As selected by Architect complying with the following:
1) Face brick:
a. Modular Size, 3-5/8” inches thick by 2 ¼” inches high by 7-5/8”
inches long
i. Brick B1 “Cascade White”
ii. Brick B2 “Dark Red W/C”
iii. Brick B3 “.75 Grey Stone”
iv. Brick B4 “Spektra Black W/C”
v. Brick B5 “Walnut”
vi. Brick B6 “Whitestone”
B. Stone Accents and Bands: Profile as shown on drawings. Color selection

1) Nonmetallic expansion joint strips.
2) Bond breaker strips.
3) Weep sash and tubes.
4) Flashing - FlashGard Thru-Wall 40 mil by Firestone or Perm-A-Barrier
self-adhering rubberized asphalt and polyethylene composite membrane
by Grace or "Equal."
5) Drainage Mesh - ProNet 2” by MasonProNet or "Equal."
PART 3 – EXECUTION
3.01 INSTALLATION
A. Comply with cold weather and warm weather protection procedures as
recommended in BIA Tech Notes.
B. Provide fire-rated assemblies complying with ASTM E 119.
C. Saw cut units when required. Maintain uniform joint width. Provide full bed,
head and collar joints except at weep holes.
D. Install lintels and accessories in masonry construction.
E. Coordinate installation of flashings.
F. Comply with applicable codes and regulations for spacing of ties and
horizontal reinforcing.
G. Provide expansion and control joints in accordance with referenced
publications.
H. Remove and replace damaged units.
I. Clean brick using bucket and brush method, BIA Tech Note 20.
