EQUIPMENT. THIS SHOULD BE THE FIRST ITEM ACCOMPLISHED WITHIN TENANT'S DEMISED

10. ALL TEMPORARY WIRING SHALL BE REMOVED WHEN TENANT'S REGULAR SERVICE IS
AVAILABLE.
11. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL PERMITS, LICENSE, CERTIFICATES AND PAY FOR ALL
FEES NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION.
12. DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC IN NATURE ONLY AND DO NOT SHOW EVERY
REQUIRED MISCELLANEOUS DETAIL, SUPPORT, FITTINGS, ETC. FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL
MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE FUNCTIONING SYSTEM WHETHER OR NOT SHOWN
ON THE DRAWINGS.
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE INSTALLATION WITH ALL OTHER TRADES TO ASSURE
INSTALLATION OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AS REQUIRED FOR THE PROPER SEQUENCE
OF CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO COORDINATE WITH ALL OTHER TRADES TO
INSURE INSTALLATION IS WITHIN INTENDED SPACE REQUIREMENTS AND DOES NOT RESULT
IN ANY CONFLICTS.
14. AS PART OF THE BASE BID, CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE AND PERFORM ALL
NECESSARY DEMOLITION WORK, RELOCATION WORK AND CAPPING OF EXISTING WORK
NECESSARY, WHETHER SHOWN OR NOT.
15. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MISCELLANEOUS WORK SUCH AS EXCAVATION,
BACK FILLING, CONCRETE, PADS, SLEEVES, CUTTING, PATCHING, ETC., REQUIRED TO
COMPLETE THE ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION.
16. ALL WORK SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A FIRST CLASS MANNER CONSISTENT WITH
MINIMUM INDUSTRY STANDARDS. MATERIALS OR EQUIPMENT, WHICH DO NOT REPRESENT
A REASONABLY NEAT OR WORKMANLIKE APPEARANCE, MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE
ARCHITECT TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER,
17. ALL MATERIAL SHALL BE NEW, COMMERCIAL GRADE AND BE U.L. LABELED AND
CONFORMED TO ALL APPLICABLE CODES.
18. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL LIGHT FIXTURES AND LAMPS AND
DELIVER THEM TO THE PROJECT SITE, UNLESS WHERE NOTED. THE ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT THE ITEMS FURNISHED MATCHES THAT QUANTITY AND
SPECIFICATIONS OF THE ITEMS REQUIRED. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REPORT
ANY DISCREPANCIES OR DAMAGED ITEMS TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND INSTALL
ONLY THE APPROVED ITEMS IN THE LOCATIONS SHOWN.
19. FURNISH ALL MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT SPECIFIED, EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFIC
APPROVAL FOR SUBSTITUTION HAS BEEN GIVEN BY THE ARCHITECT.
20. PROPOSAL SHALL BE BASED UPON SPECIFIED MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT. IN
ORDER TO PROMOTE COMPETITION, BIDDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT ALTERNATE
PROPOSALS ON ANY ALTERNATE MATERIALS AND/OR EQUIPMENT THEY WISH TO PROPOSE,
INCLUDING ANY PRICE CHANGES AFFECTED BY ACCEPTANCE OF THE ALTERNATES. COST
OF ANY CHANGES REQUIRED BY OTHER CONTRACTORS DUE TO SUBSTITUTIONS OF
ALTERNATE EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE ALTERNATE PROPOSAL.
21. ALTERNATE PROPOSALS WILL BE ACCEPTED OR REJECTED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF
CONTRACTS. NO CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER CONTRACT IS SIGNED.
22. CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH THREE (3) COPIES OF BROCHURES/SHOP DRAWINGS
FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO STARTING WORK. AT PROJECT CLOSEOUT, PROVIDE THREE (3)
COPIES OF OPERATION MANUALS, ONE (1) COPY OF "AS BUILT" RECORD DRAWINGS, AND
INSTRUCTIONS TO THE OWNER IN THE OPERATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT.
23. ALL WORK SHALL BE GUARANTEED AGAINST DEFECTS IN MATERIALS AND
WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR BEYOND FINAL ACCEPTANCE IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE ARCHITECT. GUARANTEE SHALL INCLUDE CORRECTIONS TO OR
REPLACEMENT OF DAMAGE TO OTHER'S WORK OR MATERIALS, WHICH IS CAUSED BY
WORK UNDER BY THIS CONTRACTOR.
24, ALL WORK SHALL INCLUDE START UP OF ALL SYSTEMS, FURNISHING OPERATING
AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS AND ONE (1) YEAR GUARANTEE, COMMENCING FROM
THE DATE OF ACCEPTANCE BY THE TENANT.

CEILING GRID, ETC.
26. EXIT SIGNS AND EMERGENCY LIGHTS ARE EXISTING AND ARE CONNECTED TO THE
UNSWITCHED NIGHT LIGHT CIRCUIT(S).
27. SIGN IS TO BE FURNISHED BY THE SIGN CONTRACTOR. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR
SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE SIGN CONTRACTOR AND PROVIDE ALL THE NECESSARY
LABOR AND MATERIAL TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION OF THE SIGN.
A. CONDUIT SHALL BE EMT UP TO 4" EXCEPT WHERE INSTALLED UNDERGROUND
IN CONCRETE OR MASONRY. RIGID GALVANIZED STEEL (RGC) CONDUIT SHALL BE USED
UNDERGROUND, IN CONCRETE OR IN MASONRY, ALL CONDUIT EXPOSED TO WEATHER
SHALL BE HEAVY WALL GALVANIZED STEEL. ALL CONDUIT SHALL BE U.L. APPROVED
AND SO STAMPED. SET SCREW CONNECTORS SHALL BE USED ON EMT. CONDUITS
ENTERING PANELS, PULL BOXES, JUNCTION BOXES OR OUTLET BOXES SHALL BE
SECURED IN PLACE WITH LOCKNUTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. IN ADDITION, PROVIDE
INSULATED BUSHINGS INSIDE.
B. ALL ELECTRICAL WIRING SHALL BE IN CONDUIT UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
MINIMUM SIZE CONDUIT SHALL BE 3/4". ALL CONDUIT IN FINISHED AREAS SHALL BE
CONCEALED. FLEXIBLE CONDUIT MAY BE USED FOR LIGHT FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT
CONNECTIONS ONLY AND SHALL NOT EXCEED THREE(3) FEET.
C. USE OF BX, AC, MC OR IMC CABLE IS NOT PERMITTED.
D. CONTRACTOR SHALL CUT AND PATCH FLOOR AS REQUIRED, TO INSTALL
CONDUITS IN OR BENEATH THE FLOOR FOR THE CASH DESK WIRING.
29. WIRING DEVICES
A. OUTLET AND JUNCTION BOXES SHALL BE GALVANIZED STEEL OF THE STYLE
AND SIZE SUITABLE FOR THE FUNCTION PERFORMED. PROVIDE TYPE FS
WEATHERPROOF BOXES, WHERE REQUIRED OR SHOWN. PROVIDE PULL BOXES ON ALL
CONDUIT RUNS SO THAT NO MORE THAN THREE (3) 90 DEGREES OR EQUIVALENT
BENDS ARE REQUIRED. PROVIDE CLEAR CHILD PROOF COVERS ON ALL RECEPTACLES
IN THE SALES AREA.
B. LIGHT SWITCHES SHALL BE HUBBELL NO. 1221 SERIES SINGLE POLE,
HUBBELL NO. 1223 SERIES THREE WAY OR HUBBELL NO. 1224 SERIES WITH SMOOTH
HUBBELL NO. 92701 SERIES COVERPLATES. COLOR TO MATCH SURFACE ON WHICH
THEY ARE INSTALLED. PROVIDE ALL LIGHT SWITCHES AT +48" ABOVE FINISHED FLOOR
TO THE TOP OF THE BOX.
C. RECEPTACLES SHALL BE HUBBELL NO. 5362 SERIES (STANDARD DUPLEX
RECEPT) HUBBELL NO GF -5262 SERIES (GFI TYPE RECEPTACLES. HUBBEL IG -5362
SERIES(ISOLATED GROUND TYPE RECEPTACLE), ETC. COVER PLATES SHALL BE SMOOTH

30. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

D. ALL PANELS, DISCONNECT, MOTOR STARTERS, DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT AND
SIMILAR DEVICES SHALL BEAR A PERMANENT BAKELITE LABEL W/ 1/8" ENGRAVED
LETTERING FOR IDENTIFICATION. ALL FEEDER AND BRANCH CIRCUIT DIRECTORIES SHALL
BE COMPLETELY FILLED OUT AND LOADS IDENTIFIED. FURNISH A COPY OF LABELING
TO THE TENANT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL.
E. FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW TYPEWRITTEN PANEL DIRECTORIES FOR ALL NEW
AND MODIFIED EXISTING PANELS. FURNISH COPIES IF THE PANEL DIRECTORIES TO
TENANT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL.
F. ALL FUSES USED WITHIN THE TENANT'S ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
SHALL BE BUSSMAN CLASS RK -1 LOW PEAK, CURRENT LIMITING TYPE.
G. THE TOTAL LOAD WITHIN THE TENANT'S SPACE SHALL BE BALANCED WITHIN
10% ON EACH OF THE THREE (3) PHASES PROVIDED.
31. WIRING
A. ALL WIRE AND CABLE SHALL BE SOFT DRAWN ANNEALED COPPER HAVING A
CONDUCTIVITY OF NOT LESS THAN 98 PERCENT OF THAT OF PURE COPPER. MINIMUM
SIZE WIRE IS NO. 12. INSULATION SHALL BE TYPE THW, WHWN, OR XHHN UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED. PROVIDE NO. 10 WIRE FOR ALL BRANCH CIRCUIT RUNS OVER 100
FEET IN LENGTH UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE COLOR
CODED TO CORRESPOND WITH THE LANDLORD'S ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION.
B. PROVIDE A GREEN INSULATED GROUND WIRE ON ALL CIRCUITS. MINIMUM
SIZE GROUND WIRE SHALL BE NO. 12 USE OF THE CONDUIT AS A GROUND IS NOT
PERMITTED.
C. CASH REGISTERS AND CASH REGISTER EXTENSION CABLES WILL BE
FURNISHED AND DELIVERED TO THE JOB SITE BY THE TENANT. THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR WILL SET THE CASH REGISTERS IN PLACE. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR
INSTALL THE EXTENSION CABLES IN THE EMPTY CONDUITS IN/BELOW THE FLOOR
BETWEEN AND THROUGH THE CASH DESK.
32. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL PERMANENT SERVICE AND DISCONNECT
SWITCH AND ARRANGE WITH LANDLORD'S TENANT CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR FOR
PERMANENT CONNECTION TO THE LANDLORD'S DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT. THIS SHOULD
BE THE FIRST ITEM ACCOMPLISHED WITH TENANT'S DEMISED PREMISES.
33. ALL TEMPORARY WIRING SHALL BE REMOVED WHEN TENANT'S REGULAR SERVICE IS
AVAILABLE.

35. TELEPHONE/DATA/SOUND
A. ALL TELEPHONE SYSTEMS ARE BY THE TENANT ELECTRICAL SUB
CONTRACTOR.
B. TELEPHONE SYSTEM WIRING, INCLUDING JACKS WILL BE FURNISHED BY THE
TENANT AND SHALL BE INSTALLED BY THE TELEPHONE SYSTEM VENDOR. AFTER
INSTALLATION OF THE JACKS, ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE
TELEPHONE SYSTEM VENDOR AND IDENTIFY ALL TELEPHONE JACKS.

37. TENANT WILL FURNISH SOUND SYSTEM COMPONENTS, VIDEO RECORDER,

CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL OTHER LABOR AND MATERIAL (i.e. JUNCTION BOXES,
