HomeMy WebLinkAboutCorrespondence/Z- 3/-i q 4 's d loou\0 \/ Carmel Planning and Zoning I am writing to you because Mr Langston and Mr Moffett(Old Town Design Group) are intentionally operating an illegal business and parking commercial vehicles in a residentially zoned area, Sunrise on the Monon. 9875 Westfield Blvd. Approximately a year and a half ago Carmel's zoning told them that they were were not in compliance with the Residentially Zoned area. On July 23, 2018 the board granted them a variance to operate. From the minutes. "On a Motion made by Leo Dierckman to prove Docket No. 18060010 V and seconded by Dennis Lockwood, with the conditions the use shall end by December 31, 2019, no extension shall be requested past December 31, 2019, and no more than 25 work vehicles allowed on the site." The board gave them 527 days to come in to compliance. As of January 1, 2019, they are intentionally operating a business and parking commercial vehicles in a Residentially Zoned Area. They had 527 to move. It is obvious to me that they could care less about the rules and the Carmel Zoning Boards ruling. On December 31st I talked with someone in the Zoning Office. I showed them the pictures of the commercial vehicles and that the office was still in use. It was obvious from the pictures that these vehicles would be there the next day, January 1 st. This should be an easy fix. Thursday January 2nd they should move the illegal office and commercial vehicles to their office next to Carmel's City Hall. Old Town Design Group 1132 South Rangeline Road, Suite 200 Carmel, Indiana 46032 Would you please keep me informed of any and all action taken. Per Zoning I wish to remain anonymous. I did go into the office so they do know an actual person talked to them. A year ago a friend of mine had a similar problem. Carmel's Zoning office sent him three complaintant's email's. The email's names were blacked out but you could read them. They were not blacked out enough. Therefore I choose to use my anonymous email address and no name. Justin said that they will include the path as part of their paving projects for this year. They had questions about how they could design the path so that people driving on Orchard Park Dr. and/or Daylight Dr. don't confuse the path for a roadway. I requested that they sketch a design and submit it for review along with an estimate of when they anticipate the path will be built. We all agreed that the pipeline project should not affect the installation of the path. The path will be installed within platted right-of-way so if Marathon has to remove the path to do their project it will be their responsibility to reinstall it. They also don't have a timeline for the pipeline project so rather than waiting to install the path we agreed that they should install it this year. I hope this info helps. Please let me know if you have any follow up questions or need anything else regarding this.
