HomeMy WebLinkAboutLightingLiahtina Fixtures in Program Several fixture styles have been designated to be included in the PSI Area Lighting Program. The fixtures or luminaires each offer specific lighting patterns or pholometrics and are ulilized to meet the application of the site to be lighted. The I.E.S. (Illuminating Engineering Society) standards are used in the lighting design unless the customer specifies otherwise. The lamps for these fixtures are either metal halide or sodium vapor. Metal halide produces a white light that allows the colors of items to be more true, and is.§omelimes perceived by the eye as brighter than [lie same wallage of the sodium vapor lamp. The metal halide's lumen output is less than a sodium vapor lamp of the same wattage, and currently has a shorter life span. The sodium vapor lamp produces a combinalion of yellow/while light that distorts the color of objects. The sodium vapor larnp is more energy efficient because it produces a higher lumen oulpul per wait than the metal halide lamp and it has a longer lamp life. Both lamp kinds have their applicalions and are used in designing area lighting programs according to the requirement of the site and customer request. The poles or standards have been chosen to match the purpose and style of the fixtures. There are different configurations available and are used according to the lighting system design required for [lie site plan. Each Unit [pole with fixture(s)] meets specific PSI engineering safety and construction guidelines. All conductors within the lighting system are underground. Contract for Service Cuslomer's seeking service under this schedule for a PSI owned area lighting system shall enter into a contract with PSI Energy, Inc. for an initial term of len (10) years, and successive terms of one (1) year. If the customer terminates service under this rale schedule prior to the expiration of the initial term of the contract, the customer shall pay PSI the original installation cost of such area lighting system, less accumulated depreciation, plus removal cost less any salvage value. Bills for the area lighting service supplied under this schedule will be submitted by PSI to the Customer on a monthly basis separate from the building's energy usage billing. An outage credit per lamp per night shall be determined from the time the outage is reported. See II)e Rate AL - Schedule for Area Lighting Service in the Electric Tariff Rates approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for further details and information about this rale. Availability Available to any PSI Energy customer on property arid/or streets which are owned and operated by a private individual, business or other entity. Applicant must be adjacent to a PSI electric power line that is adequate and suitable for supplying the area lighting service. Character of Service All lamps burn approximately one-half (112) hour after sunset until approximatelly one-half (1/2) Hour before sunrise each day. This is approximately 4,000 hours per year. The monthly rales are based oil the fixture style, lamp wattage and kind (sodium vapor (SV) or metal halide (MH)j, and on the pole style and material. The rates include the cost of normal installation, material, maintenance, enorgy and operating costs. T he fixtures are, each conholled by a pholoelechic cell. 'Ile lighting sys(em on the Area Lighting Rale AL is not nlelered. Customer ResPoiTsibility- The customer shall have file responsibility of providing PSI Energy with any easements, covenants, mstliclions, etc., necessary to facilitate the installation of the lighting system. The IURC (Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission) has approved the following costs to be included in Rate AL - Schedule for Area Lighting Service. The cost for furnishing normal installation includes: the program's designated fixtures and poles, including photo cells, lamps, support arms or brackets, foundations, conductor, normal trenching, labor, maintenance, (lamp, starter, photo cell), and energy usage. II is the customers' responsibility to pay for the cost, over and above, the normal cost of construction covered by the rale before the construction begins. This would include unusual trenching such as through concrete, asphall or rock, anything resulting in additional labor and/or material costs, such as transformers, extra primary and secondary underground conductor or other unusual excess facilities required by the lighting system.
