Cumulative Program to Date Editorial Impact: $7,632,500 (est). Activities • Followed up further via email with author James Fallows of The Atlantic, again making the pitch for him to visit Carmel. • Arranged Interview with Talk Media Radio reporter Luke Vargas. • Continued monitoring progress in regarding IEDC's plan to bring part of their annual meeting to Carmel in October of 2019. • Continued to pitch Carmel and the Mayor as an interview subject for media covering the environment and "smart city" development, including Shayndi Rice in the Chicago bureau of the Wall Street Journal. • Shared news of Niche.com ranking Carmel the nation's best place to live for the second consecutive year with site selection consultants, beginning with those in Chicago working for, among others: o KPMG o Grant Thornton o Cushman Wakefield o Deloitte o Savills Studley o Mohr Partners o BLS Strategies o Ernst&Young o Jones Lang LaSalle o Hickey & Associates 1 ROB D€ROCKER • In addition to sharing the Niche news and a link to previous #1 and other top tier rankings, mentioned the possibility of a fall meeting with Mayor Brainard, should his schedule allow him to come to Chicago. One independent consultant, Joseph Pilewski, with whom the Mayor has met previously, said this: "Regarding Mayor Brainard, last year's visit from you and the Mayor one of my most memorable ED visits— and/have many... I am always happy to meet again with Mayor Brainard. However, 1 feel that my knowledge of Carmel, IN is reasonably good, so you and the Mayor may wish to meet with other site selectors. (As a side note, I sent a proposal this week to a multi-state company who is considering Carmel on its short list. During my prospective client interview, I gave Carmel, W very high marks for the proposed project.) In summary, my door is open and whether you put me on the Mayor's itinerary is up to you. August Work Plan • Follow up with journalists covering the environment to visit Carmel for stories related to the City's environmental practices • Follow up with media who continue to express interest in Carmel's Roundabouts, along with initiatives by the city on the environment. • Continue outreach to site consultants with Carmel and an invitation for them to consider Carmel for the corporate expansions and relocations they are managing. • Share (with the Mayor and Nancy Heck) appropriate media leads that come my way; follow up appropriately. • Continue outreach for relevant speaking engagements for the Mayor and/or other Carmel representatives. 2 ROB DEROCKER EXPENSE REPORT Carmel June 19-21, 2018 for client meetings STAFF NAME: Rob DeRocker DATE : 11/01/17 SUMMARY OF EXPENSES FINANCE USE ONLY VOUCHER# TOTAL CREDIT 1 $1,015.58 TOTAL CASH TOTAL $1,015.58 EXPENSE CREDIT CASH ACTIVITY DATE EXPENSE DESCRIPTION ACCOUNT# EXPENSE EXPENSE 6/19/18 flight to/from Indianapolis 253.40 6/21/18 rental car 224.24 6/21/18 hotel in Carmel 378.56 6/19/18 cab to LaGuardia 36.67 6/21/18 lunch in airport 16.38 / 21-Jun cab from LaGuardia 31.06 V 6/20/18 parking in Indy 8.00 6/19/18 train to/from NYC 28.00 6/21/18 gas for rental car 12.20 6/19/18 breakfast in LaGuardia 16.93 6/19/18 snacks in Indy Airport 10.14 1,015.58 ot, - p, dreceip Rtocyrd I tar:GP F T Tuesday'.June l S., 201 Seats: TA ur,-A IND ! q C.Pmw Econ i(0) gi05 --m '1. !; n6t3?S.
