ON HOOD
SEQUENCE OF OPERATION: \— FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
1. KEF-1 IS ACTIVATED FROM HOOD SWITCH OR WHENEVER HOOD TEMPERATURE IS 15'F (ADJ.) ABOVE ROOM
TEMPERATURE.
2. WHEN KEF-1 IS ACTIVATED TERMINAL BOX INDEXES TO 1,175 CFM CONSTANT VOLUME THROUGH BMS.
3. WHEN KEF-1 SWITCH IS TURNED OFF, A 15 MINUTE (ADJ.) TIMER IS SET. WHEN THE TIMER REACHES ZERO, KEF-1 IS
DEACTIVATED.
4. IF THE HOOD FIRE SUPPRESION SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR:
A. KEF-1 SHALL BE ACTIVATED,
B. TERMINAL BOX INDEXES TO 1,175 CFM CONSTANT VOLUME.
C. THE COOKING EQUIPMENT SHALL BE SHUTDOWN.
5. WHEN HOOD IS ACTIVATED WHILE THE AIR HANDLING UNIT IS UNOCCUPIED MODE THE AIR HANDLING UNIT, RTU -1,
SHALL BE RETURNED TO OCCUPIED MODE UNTIL THE NEXT UNOCCUPIED CYCLE.
NOTE:
1. CONTROL POINTS TO BE INCORPORATED INTO CLOSEST DDC PANEL.
2. TERMINAL BOX HEATING CONTROL TO BE PER TERMINAL BOX CONTROL SCHEMATIC. PROVIDE ALL
TERMINAL UNIT CONTROLS PER CONTROL SCHEMATIC FOR VAV TERMINAL BOX (DDC), WITH CAV CONTROL WHEN
INDEXED TO HOOD OPERATION MODE.
3. HOOD MANUFACTURER TO PROVIDE CONTACTS FOR CONTROL.
4. CONTACTS ON SUPPRESSION SYSTEM TO START FAN WHEN FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED.
5. BI -X SHALL SEND ALARM TO LOCAL BUILDING ALARM PANEL.
6. ROOM AND EXHAUST TEMPERATURE SENSORS BY KITCHEN HOOD SUPPLIER. TEMPERATURE SENSOR CONTROLS
INTEGRAL THROUGH HOOD CONTROLLER.
